The same was said about Carlos Delgado. How'd that work out.Good comparison especially with Prince Fielder. Prince Fielder was staring at my ex from the batters circle when the Blue Jays were playing the Rangers in 2014. So fuck him LMAO I’m only joking I actually was always liking him because he was Cecils son.
If the Blue Jays don’t sign Guerrero this franchise will be in the worst position. Get out the shovels and bury them. It’s early 2000s boring baseball time. The Blue Jays will be dead. I kind of like the idea of a retool. Guerrero is the face of the franchise. In my opinion we need him and we need to utilize our physical trainers to keep him in form.

In what sense? Delgado was a Blue Jay for 12 seasons. After his tenure, the Blue Jays must’ve had an average attendance of what felt like 8000 until 2015. His only injury plagued season was his fifth season after departing from the Blue Jays. Which was his age 37 final 17th season. He was still a premier power bat imo.The same was said about Carlos Delgado. How'd that work out.
How perfect would this be. James Click - Jays VP/GM.Houston's former GM, James Click, is the Jays VP of baseball strategy now. I suspect he had a lot to do with this deal.
He's playing A ball at Dunedin. 3 years younger than the average A player. Other than the K rate I see a lot of positives there.
I've had a few arguments on X with guys saying Atkins is at least an average MLB GM, that he wins most of his trades, he's got a solid track record on FA signings etc.....Like Shack says Ross Atkins flaps his gums and he’s really saying nothing. Going on about “difficult dialogue during the season” or “this is something that we definitely want to get done and having it done before free agency is not out of the question” (like literally trying to convince us that in the weeks before free agency he can still have a possibility of getting the extension done) ummmm yeah sure thing buddy. And I am sure your relationship with the players and their agents is just fabulous as you couldn’t negotiate shit with them. And blah blah blah blah …. Guerrero has said he wants to stay in Toronto multiple times. He’s the face of the franchise. And we need a GM that will get this signed and get this thing done. Sure Ross can find some free agents like a 5-year-old would be able to do…. But this guy lacks his negotiation existing talent ability like big time. We need a GM that would get this job done!

I agree. I personally think he’s a numbers and analytics guy, with weak negotiation ability to lock up contracts for existing talent. Going to an existing pool for free agents, i firmly believe is a different skill set than extending existing talent. Understanding who to keep together and why and team chemistry is so unbelievably overlooked by Atkins.I've had a few arguments on X with guys saying Atkins is at least an average MLB GM, that he wins most of his trades, he's got a solid track record on FA signings etc.....
Sorry not buying it. I've heard him interviewed on MLB radio, he sounds clueless about baseball. Constantly contradicts himself. He's just not a good baseball mind. Turf his ass when the season is over, please!!!
He's Kyle Dubas only he's actually played the sport.I agree. I personally think he’s a numbers and analytics guy, with weak negotiation ability to lock up contracts for existing talent. Show him the plank and make him walk it.Show Ross the door. We need a go-getter.
yeah except at least Kyle Dubas believes in offence lol. He's Kyle Dubas only he's actually played the sport.
