Good question. I've watched most of their games this year so here goes.

He ran aground a little there when he called Tim Anderson ''Jackie''. N Y media really made it out to more than it was. He was just busting balls. Anyways he apologized to Jackie Robinson's widow personally and that seemed to smooth things over. There was mention that he was upset that his teammates didn't have his back but he never said anything publicly that I can recall.

The big problem he has had is his batting this year. His defense has been great but on the other side he has been terrible. He said in an interview that he read a random tweet on the net that he's basically Adeiny Hechavarria with a 25 million dollar a year price tag. He then said that it really pissed him off to read that but when he thought on it he agreed, lol. At this point he has lost the fans. Everybody was waiting for him to turn it around but now they realize it's not going to happen.

To me it looks like he is just over matched at the plate on most nights. Consensus on the Yankee sites by the writers is that he guessing now because he's slowing down and can't react the way he used to. Father time is undefeated as we all know.

So to answer your question. No he hasn't had a positive impact. We can't blame injury either. He's been relatively healthy this year and Boone has continues to run him out there game in and game out. Yep just checked and he's playing 3rd and hitting 5th tonight just like always.

Yankees are not the same team they were for most of the first half. Their pitching barely resembles what they started the season with. Severino is hurt and probably gone for the year. Cortes is hurt. Montgomery traded ( nobody can figure that one out). Michael King ( their best reliever that no one has heard of) is gone for the year. Chad Green gone for the year. Zack Britton out all year hurt himself in a rehab assignment. Chapman gets an infection from a tattoo on. Now he is out his leg. Chapman hasn't been the same since they outlawed the spider tack anyways. Taillon is day to day.

Rizzo has had a reoccurring back problem and had an epidermal injection the other day. So he's out. LeMahieu is playing through a foot issue and is slumping. Lightening in bottle Carpenter is out for the year most likely. Stanton just came back from an achilles issue and his timing is all off. Hicks , Torres Donaldson are automatic outs. Oh and shortstop Kinner Falefa has hit one HR all year.

Judge is carrying this team.

Unless there is divine intervention the Yankees will continue to free fall.......LOL. Donaldson just booted a routine grounder as I write this.
Wow! Thanks for the detailed update. I knew the Yankees were struggling, but did not realize how deep those struggles have gone.

Too bad about Donaldson as he was a catalyst with the Jays. However, some players tend to shine very bright for a short period, and then fade away pretty quick.

Baseball and golf tend to be very humbling sports.

The Yankees are not as good a team as their 1st half record would indicate.

The Yankees are not as bad of a team as their record since then would indicate. They are a good team but with flaws, just about like every other playoff bound team.

Uh dude they're 15 and 25 since the break........How is that a good team?

Everybody should be keeping an eye on Seattle right now.......They're surging.

I can see TB finishing in 1st place in AL East, they're winning with their ace on the IL, Yanks are collapsing fast.

If I maybe bold to predict:

AL East Champs- TB

1st WC - Seattle
2nd WC- Orioles
3rd WC- Yanks

I hate to say it, Jays will not make playoffs

They are underperforming right now exactly the same way that they overperformed for the 1st half. The actual team is somewhere in between.

In this senario, what is more surprising, the Yanks out of 1rst place or the Orioles making the playoffs?

Tampa 4 games behind. The collars are tightening. On the Jays broadcast last night Martinez and Tabler said if the Yanks aren't in first at the end of the season it would be the biggest blown lead in mlb division history.

How about the Yankees missing the playoffs and Baltimore, Toronto and TB making it?

The Yankees have a tough schedule ahead with all but 12 games against play=off contending teams. 6 of those games are against the Red Sox, who play them tough. Their final series of the year is against Texas however it may be too late.

'Traditional' doubleheader in Baltimore today; game 1 at 1:05, game 2 about 40 minutes after the end of game 1. Twins @ Yankees also has a 1:05 start time.

Zach Pop recalled from Buffalo as the extra player for doubleheaders.

I'm somewhat softening my stance on the Yanks, they are now part owners of Ac Milan. Vic Romano is like Tina Turner, he does things nice and rough. He allows Pirates on second and third then strikes out the side.

Why does he have Tommy Chong eyes?

There's rain in forecast, more so for game 2.

No Bobofette in today's lineup, good!, fucken rally killer.
He's been carrying the team for the last 4 or 5 games and is batting in the upper .300's over the last 20 games.

He's been the rally completer lately. And he's been making some nice plays in the field.

He's redeemed himself, hopefully he can maintain it for rest of season.

In the minute it took me to take out the garbage he just hit his 2nd homer of the game. He's hitting .397 in his current streak. And he just reached 20 HRs. He hit 29 all of last year. Still 28 games to go. he should reach 25.

With a guy as talented as Bo, even a 50 or 60 game slump is no reason to give up on him. It would be a knee-jerk reaction.

When is Guerrero going to contribute? Does anyone know his RISP average? They now have Baltimore on the brink if they can get a win tomorrow with "I am not Kikuchi" White

The Jays need Kikuchiyo, not Kikuchi.

This is what a team leader does. The ump would have tossed Kevin Gausman's salad.

Rougned Stinky tries threatens Vladdy JR during near brawl last night,

“I told Vladdy if he got any closer to Adley he was gonna be in a movie like he wanted to be, just the kind where you’re on your back,” the Orioles slugger said. “I do not play. I hope he understands that now.”

LOL!, Vladdy would annihilate him.

Manoah was awesome last night. Best way to silence a chirpy team. Love the flip play by Vladdy and Manoah at first. Mitch White sent down to AAA. Wonder if that spot in rotation will be bullpen game for rest of season. Unfortunately Kikuchi is the only pitcher in the pen that is stretched out to pitch several innings.
