Just because Moreno is a catcher now doesn’t mean he’ll always be a catcher. Carlos Delgado was a catcher in the minor leagues. So was Craig Biggio. If Moreno can hit, he’ll have a place somewhere in a big league lineup.Kirk's becoming a better catcher as well. They have a player with a bright future there.
And Moreno is lurking in Buffalo.........Janssen is looking strong as well.
They have depth at this position to deal from......But they have to be careful
My Yankees have got some big problems.Jays magic number is 121.
Yankees seem to be coming back down to earth. They are 5-5 in their last 10 and no longer have the best record in the majors.
...lots of money with which to fix most problems. My Yankees have got some big problems.
Now what they do have is...
Hal Steinbrenner isn't his dad....lots of money with which to fix most problems.
All valid points.Hal Steinbrenner isn't his dad.
They are the richest team is baseball but spend behind the Mets and the Dodgers. Not by much granted.
It will be interesting if Judge walks at the end of the season.
They let Robinson Cano go in his prime so it wouldn't shock me.
I feel bad for the guy as he was a true teammate on the Jays last year and from a media perspective, he was a good guy.Marcus Semien hit his 2nd HR of the season, on pace for 7 on the season and is batting .193...25 million a year huh, Jays did well walking from that.
Even if he bounces back this year and/or has 2 more good years, the Jays still made the right decision to walk away from a huge 7 year deal. He turns 32 in September. Very few players are worth that kind of money after the age of 35. I am sure most fans can come up with a list of good and great players that played way below the value of their contracts in their later years.Marcus Semien hit his 2nd HR of the season, on pace for 7 on the season and is batting .193...25 million a year huh, Jays did well walking from that.
Shocked at both Semien and Ray. I can only assume that they're just taking a while rounding into form. All the Jays own roster stats are way below normal for this season, aside from some of the pitching staff. How the 2021 Blue Jays are doing for their new teams:
Marcus Semien: 27/150, (.180 AVE), 0 HR, 9 RBI .233 SLG, .475 OPS
Reece McGuire: 10/63 (.159 AVE), 0 HR, 5 RBI .190 SLG, .381 OPS
Randal Grichuk: 32/113, (.283 AVE), 5 HR, 22 RBI .442 SLG .770 OPS
Kevin Smith: 20/96 (.209 AVE), 2 HR, 12 RBI .365 SLG .595 OPS
Steven Matz: 3-3, 6.03 ERA 37.1 IP, 8 HR, 44 K, 1.39 WHIP
Robbie Ray: 4-4, 4.77 ERA 54.2 IP, 8 HR, 54 K, 1.19 WHIP
The Blue Jays will receive selections #'s 77 and 78 in the July 17-19 Amateur Draft, as compensation for losing Semien and Ray as free agents.
Quick, someone tell Les Nessman(winner of the Silver Sow award).Jays will face Chi Chi Rodriguez tonight.
Hopefully Chai Chai Rockaweez will be up to par his next start.Quick, someone tell Les Nessman(winner of the Silver Sow award).
