Blue Jays' top prospects news

I think this link stays current on mlb dot com, so if you click it in a month, anything posted on the site about the Jays' top prospects will be added to the top of the page.

2022 Minor league batting statistics

The link is set up for all players on the Buffalo Bisons, 2022 YTD, including players no longer with the Jays' organization. It can easily be adapted to show pitching statistics, or any statistical subset of the minor leagues. I'll personally be re-referencing this post periodically.

Nice start for Logan Warmoth.
Gabriel Moreno is our top organizational prospect and he's doing well also. Although no HR as of yet.

Keeping track of prospects is more enjoyable than watching the Jays these days. Jays bats continue to be cold but it is especially frustrating to see them beat themselves with bobbles in the field and base running mistakes. Chapman made 2 costly errors yesterday and defense is supposed to be his biggest asset

He had zero errors before yesterday. His reputation is still very intact.

I agree that Chapman is one of the best defensive players of this era and will always be regarded as such. My point was that there must be something with Jays head space with all these bobbles and miscues, especially from him.

On another note, Jays back in the winning column. After a slow start Kikuchi pitched well again yesterday. Good to see.

Good win last night. Kikuchi has regained his all star form from first half of last year, he keeps this up Jays will have another ace.

Again, I'm not sure what you're talking about regarding Chapman. He's played 35 games and has been perfect/no errors defensively in 34 of them. What are all these bobbles and miscues you are talking about that the official scorers seem to be missing.

As well, in terms of overall defense, Toronto has the 8th highest fielding percentage of the 30 teams. That sounds pretty decent to me.

Do you have different stats that say otherwise?

Yes pretty decent overall defensive stats but last week there was a cluster of defensive bobbles including Chapman's 2 errors on Sunday. Miscues refer mostly to base running mistakes like Bo walking back to 2nd base with head down instead of advancing on passed ball, or Kirk sliding past 2nd base and getting tagged out even though he had tons of time. In the latter case Kirk simply failed to execute a basic slide. Also, Bo has made many great plays but most of his 6 errors have been on routine plays and some cost the Jays the game. Hey I love the Jays. I was simply venting during loosing streak. I am done venting.

Jays have been looking tense in the dugout lately, understandably so, someone's gotta pull a prank, to really lighten the mood, like giving Vladdy a "Hot Foot"

Is Kikuchi this years Rob Ray? Ray seems to have regressed in Seattle and didn’t travel to Toronto with the team due to being unvaccinated.

Obviously, one bad game shouldn't ruin his reputation.
It wasn't quite so obvious to whomever I was responding.

And it still doesn't hold a candle to when you informed us that "smoking causes cancer". It's gonna be tough to beat that one. Poor effort dartsy but keep trying.

Please note that others pegged you as Captain Obvious before I ever did.

If you had been able to read that post properly which you obviously could not. So, I have to explain it to you.

We all know that Lafleur was a heavy smoker and that probably caused the cancer that killed him. My point is that numerous other Habs from the same era also died from cancer and there is no indication that they were also all heavy smokers.

Lafleur was a heavy smoker and that was probably what caused his cancer. However, I can remember quite a few other Habs who also contracted cancer.

Pat Burns 58, Nyrop 43, Larocque 40, Roberts, Lupien, Wickenheiser 37, Kurvers 58, JC Tremblay 55 and maybe more. Guy Lapointe is currently fighting cancer.
So you attempted to enlightened us to the fact that a bunch of players got cancer but the only one who was a heavy smoker got lung cancer. Wow.

But your original post mentioned nothing about the smoking habits of the others, so how would anybody know that that was your point.

It should be obvious that the point/question in that post is why did such an unusually high number of Habs contract cancer (I even provided several names). Why??? It was an obvious question. There was an article, which I can't find now, that tried to explained what might be the cause of the cancer cluster among the Hab players (and Pat Burns).

shack, you pegged Darts, and admit it in the sports forum? I had always assumed you were both binary, not bi.

A couple more comments/questions and let's put this obvious issue to bed.

1) Why did the other poster introduce cancer in a Blue Jay thread?
2) Wasn't it obvious that I was agreeing with him i.e. one bad game shouldn't ruin Chapman's reputation?

Your "eye popping revelation" that GL's heavy smoking probably caused his lung cancer was a classic Captain Obvious post. I have yet to match it.
