The ratings for BT have been soaring since The Mighty Sid took over as co-host. He wasn't happy with the radio format of his gig with Tim so he found greener pastures. He still gets his sports pieces in.

He had lots of critics who bashed him as a sports personality because that's just the way guys who are into sports are. Morning shows are just more acceptable of people.

As far as the ratings go, many people will tune in the first week just to see how he does. After the first weeks will be a better gage.

Some people thought that Sid was just big Portugesh ham, they didn't like his shtick. Whenever he's substituted on Hockey Central, he was outstanding, I figured he would excel at BT.

He does promote Tim's Show after Sid Six-Zero, so it's not like they couldn't stand each other.

And in September we’ll see if we have that.
we will know before that

Pearson is down until well after the season starts and now so is Hatch who was his replacement so that leaves one ace who was useless in last year playoff due to injury

pitchers get injured a lot so to have a championship staff that is quality on paper only if no one gets injured means you do not have a championship staff

Didnt realize championships were won in April, especially in this day and age where 1/3 of the teams make it into the playoffs.

Baseball is the worst sport for that because they play so few little games.

I mean the season is basically won or lost April.

Actually, Jays have a decent rotation but is it enough?

Another top starter along with Ryu - who has been a strong cy young contender last two years - and Pearson, who may be the real ace of our team, and we can compete with anyone

think LA with three cy young winners Trevor Bauer, Clayton Kershaw and David Price.

because pitchers will go down we need quality backup

Matz, Stripling, Ray, and Roark round out the rotation that is above average

I am thinking trade Vlad. If he does not have a breakout season he will lose trading value

At this point he is DH who cannot run

His bat is not needed as much as pitching is with all the offence they added
Hyun Jin-Ryu
Robbie Ray
Nate Pearson
Tanner Roark
Steven Matz

I'd hardly call that decent. It's actually below average compared to other MLB starting rotations. I wish we had signed Taijuan Walker.

Perhaps instead of acting like a jackass, if you disagree with my statement counter it. I stand by what I say. Other than Ryu we have a rotation full of question marks. Its the weakest part of our team entering 2021.
Robbie Ray - can't find the plate
Nate Pearson - will be an ace, just not ready yet. You don't want to be relying on him as your #3. And he's nursing a groin injury will start the season on the IL.
Steven Matz - has only pitched 150+ innings once in his 5 seasons prior to 2020. Can generate K's and has decent peripherals so there is some hope there since he's only 29.
Tanner Roark - has not been a quality MLB pitcher since 2016. The league adjusted to him. My prediction is that he won't make it to June in the starting rotation.

Ross Stripling - throwing out his ugly 2020 numbers he is a K per inning pitcher with good peripherals a mid 3's ERA and a sub 1.20 WHIP. But like Matz no durability, his highest innings output is 122.
Trent Thornton - can generate whiffs but has control issues and is hittable. His ERA and WHIP in 2019 was 4.84 and 1.49. That doesn't cut it.

3 of our starting 5 are left handed pitchers which should be cause for concern too.

I'd grade the rotation below average, a C- at best. It would rank somewhere between 18-20 for me in MLB. I've seen it ranked as high as 15.

Jays' starters have the lowest ERA in the pre season of all teams. I know it's not the real thing, but it's an interesting stat.

C-...wow...you're a hard marker...there is potential there but I will agree that they need to deliver.

I like acting like a jackass.

That was a great analysis of the rotation. Now find 15 teams with a better rotation for it to be "below average".

lets also remind of you of a few things:

1) Robbie Ray can't find the plate? Has one bad year like most players on the planet and now "he can't find the plate"...lol.
2)Explain to me why we can't rely on him as our #3 exactly??? Didn't know nursing a groin injury to start the year meant you won't pitch all year and reach your all-star potential.
3)Steven Matz has pitched over 150 innings in 3 of 6 mlb seasons. One of them was his rookie season in which is only played 6 games and the another was the shortened COVID season...lol.

Tanner Roark, Ross Stripling and Trent Thorton make it as your 4th or 5th starter in any team in baseball.

Simeon Woods Richardson and especially Alex Manoah will be up with the big club this year. In Manoah's really just a matter of manipulating his service time.

Anyway I digress. You called this a below average rotation compared to other MLB teams. That means you feel it's worse then at leas 15 of the other MLB teams. Anyone who make that assertion makes me question if they actually watch baseball because its absolutely absurd. So if it warrants being called a jackass for saying it, so be it.

I think that Anthony Kay has a chance to eat up some innings, in a productive way.

Yes acting like a jackass making conjecture because you simply disagree with my opinion.
Robbie Ray can't find the plate. Go back to his numbers since 2016. He walks batters at a rate of about 4.2/9. He's a subpar #2, I didn't want him re-signed.
Pearson is a rookie and hasn't had any spring training due to his injury. He will struggle.
Matz has had 150+ IP in 2 seasons. I'm ok with Matz he may actually turn out to be our #2.
Tanner Roark should not be in the major leagues. Sorry.

Woods-Richardson will not be up unless we're out of it in September. Manoah is an interesting case. Obviously I'm impressed with what I've seen but he has zero experience pitching in the pros so I doubt he will be up in 2021.

It is a below average rotation and it doesn't surprise me because our management team have put much more emphasis on the hitting than the pitching for some reason. When we had Anthropolous he stocked the cupboard with arms. I miss that.

Okay, I'm going to have to said it again then. Do you watch baseball? Anyone that thinks this rotation is "below average" has little to zero knowledge about the rest of the league.

There's literally no way for me to sugar coat it.

And FYI, these guys have "stocked the cupboard" with arms just as much if not more then AA did so not exactly sure where you getting this idea from.

Your also using that wonderful crystal ball of yours to much. "Pearson will struggle".....lol. Didn't realize you were a pro scout.

Again, Tanner Roark fights for the 5th spot on any team in baseball.

Your problem is you have no idea what an "average rotation" in baseball is. Either that or your idea of average is grouped with about 4 teams in baseball that have better rotations.
