But we break the Tribe's winning streak!

Back to baseball, ace-strada made a good start to hold back the hottest team, the bullpen sucked as usual, but our big bats came thru today: Edwing hits a 3 run shot, and JD chipped in with the go ahead.

If we can split against the Indians Sunday, that would be a moral victory after the rough 19 inning loss. If they take 3 of 4 then we would have lost 9 of last 14 after the halfway mark.

I can see the Jays become sellers at the trade deadline.

Estrada to have MRI on his back tomorrow, possible he could miss his next start or two.

Glad the Jays got the win, and agree, a split would be excellent considering... it is the Indians.
Without that crazy umpire last night, it could easily have been Jays winning 2 out of 3 by now. Series has shown Indians aren't so special. Let's hope they can make it 2 out of 4.

I guess I'm a troll because I keep saying that it is OK to have an opinion and to express it but don't pretend to know more than the coaches and management.

BTW, the Sports Forum is beginning to contain the same amount of venom as the Political Forum.

Actually, the Indians are special. 14 straight games without giving up more than 3 runs is incredible. Great pitching and timely hitting and good manager can take them all the way to the WS.

Good to know Shapiro and Atkins can put together a team. But I wanna win this year.

Of course you do!

You know everything!

:yo:

Not as much as you. Without being in the club house, you know that the players aren't motivated by gibby, and that David price was the glue that held the team together that's gone this year. That's pretty damn good!

I think we're 2 good relievers away from making a deep playoff run. Do you guys agree??

And of course Stroman also needs to (permanently) find his mojo back, which he did his last start

Orioles losing 6-3 in the 5th.

They gotta start coming back down to earth sooner or later, no way could they be at a .600 winning percentage all season

Wow!!! Happ!!! I could not believe what I saw today. 17-1 BJ wins. This is like a delayed Canada Day gift from our own lovely BJ. We will take it in any day.

Let's go, BJ!

XOXOXO

Planet reality. If a team is being blown out and you want to save the pen, then throw in a non-pitcher to finish off a game.

But when you have a chance to win, why would you put players who have never played that position in to play for you?
Sure... Maybe YOU don't. But a professional like John Gibbons has the intelligence and insight to realize that his team can win 2 games if he avoids using up his next starters and allows his team to lose the 19 inning game.

That's what separates the pros from the joes like you, I guess.

Exactly, or, as stated a page or 2 ago, sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war.

.

So Gibbons is better now than Francona? TF has two WS with Bosox, and Cleveland is still 5 games better than us after losing 2. TF got on the phone with his GM to call up the hottest pitcher they have in the upper minors as he brought in Bauer to win the 19 inning game.

Happ-y with the split, probably the best we could have expected against the hottest team in baseball.
