Most teams will look at the next day starter or a starter who is between starts.

Cleveland did...I guess that strategy did not pay off for them...
This. Cleveland wanted to win more and they put up the next day starter. The Jays put up utility infielders.
Win today and call up someone from the minors and worry about next day.

Jesus Christ...

another example of your ignorant and moronic level of baseball IQ.

DeMarlo Hale has no control over who might be available down in AAA to make a start. It's not his call. He only has control over the active players in his line up.

You seriously follow baseball???

Agree w Ref. Jays threw the game.
If you would return the courtesy:
What planet do you live on?
Planet Reality.

The Blue Jays used the players available to try to win the game.
It didn't work out.

It wasn't forfeiting , it was relenting under the circumstances. Although I see a reason for not using Marco, Sanchez or Dickey...no explanation was offered about Happ. The team who could afford a loss, the Indians, put a starter in who could multiple innings and no idea who pitches today...the Jays are slipping and took another loss.........but they could have put Sandy Koufax in and they weren't going to win..the offence sucked and the umpire was an offence killer. I think Schultz would have gone another inning or two, but the hip injury prevented. He was one of many pitchers who deserved a W

George,

This guy is so far out in left field (pun intended), don't even try to explain to him the concept of what happened. You know the guys that call the Mike Wilner show after the game and say the dumbest shit you hear?

Yeah, they gave no explanation about Happ, but that doesn't mean there wasn't something going on with him either. Sanchez actually put his cleats on so I think he was up next.

As you stated, Goins and Barney turned out to be not to bad moves. It plain and simple was offence continuing to fumble and squander chances. The one that hurt the most was when Barney had a guy at 3rd with one out. Got to be able to get that guy in from 3rd with one out. The other problem is the Jays stubbornness to play small ball.

I also wouldve left Goins in to pitch a few more innings. He was doing well and even had his heater up to 90mph
How badly did you want Ryan Goins to hurt his arm?

In Blue Jays news today, Ryan Goins has been placed on the 15 Day Disabled List, with forearm tightness.

The game last night was fcuked up from the get go.

1) A shitty biased home plate umpire.
2) Shitty biased umpire tossed EE our major RBI producer for complaining about a called strike on a pitch that was 6 inches off the plate.
3) Shitty biased umpire forced Jay hitters to expand the strike zone.
4) Goins hurts his arm.

In other Jay news.

Turf toe is a very serious injury. If not properly cared for, gangrene could set in and potentially kill Bautista in a worse case scenario.

1 very hard call to make

2 putting non pitchers out to seriously pitch is very risky to their untrained arms. I would be upset if I was Goins/Barney as manager asked me to risk injury which is BS

3 you do not build a staff to account for 19 innings

agree about small ball and that is a Gibby decision as batters either bunt or learn to sac by hitting other way or use hit and run

Jays will soon have to decide to trade away future yet once again, stand pat or sell

Cant see dumping manager until end of season

After all, Boys have tried hard to win in the special day. All I want to say is: Would you please put my Fav. BJ's pitcher 41 Sanchez as a starter as many as possible specially the day like Canada Day? It's just one of another games. It's a long season... I really like our BJ this year so far based on couple of games I have watched.

Let's go, BJ!

XOXOXO

3 run homer by Edwing bottom of first.

Maybe losing him in the 1st was why the Jays lost yesterday. Or should I say that was why the Jays were forced to "blow" :puke: the game yesterday.

champion teams need excellent relievers and ours are well below average
