4.5 up on Yankees, as we win and Mets do their job as well.

Assuming we win the AL East, what match ups do you think would favour Jays? At present, Houston and NYY are the WC teams and KC and Texas are the other division leaders.
If we can throw Price and Strolman(assuming he pitches like tonight) along with our defense and bats I don't think it matters.

My one preference to not face is KC. They appear to be the strongest. The only other issue I see is will Texas only because they are running hot and you never want to see a team with their steam up.

But I'll match this line up against anyone.

Another great game tonight..I was hoping Stroman would be lifted in the middle of the seventh....the ovation would have been thunderous. I got one pet peeve about Stroman....only the Jays seem to break the taboo of having pitchers with single digit numbers (remember the sterling careers of number 4 - Kyle Drabek and number 7 - Josh Towers) - and now Stroman wears number 6. Apparently the number means something to him, but it does look out of place. Give Kawasaki number 6...and Stroman can be 66 (ok us old farts like some traditions and I can think of no other pitchers who wore single digits on any other team.

Question - they say Encarnacions streak of getting on base ended tonight - but he did reach on an error - why doesnt that count? And Mr. Gibbons seemed to be standing more.

The Red Soxs are rooting against the Yankees. If it comes to the final three games of the season, the Yanks close out the season against them. Ortiz spoke with Bautista while in Fenway, the two have been best buds since winter ball over a decade ago. Big Poppy said that if Stroman is healthy, the Jays have a legitimate shot at going deep in the playoffs.

And Tulo's scapula injury may not be as bad as originally diagnosed.

Fuck that shit. Anything less than the division would be a huge disappointment.

I'd say forget the wild card and instead say the magic number to catch KC is 17.
Watched Detroit give away a 2 run lead in the 9th only to come back and walk off in the 12th, just 1 game back of KC now.

Funny how things change, mid July the wild card was a dream, and now it would suck if that is where the Jays ended up.

So it's magic number 12 for the east title and 7 for a wild card spot.
I was about to post this, but you beat me. We are now 9.5 games over Twins who are the closest chaser in the race for the last WC spot.

We have 15 games left, Twins 16.

On the Island today, 1 PM start, Pineda vs Syndergaard.

I think this is the most exciting Jays season EVER, and I've been a huge fan since the early 80's.
* there were no expectations this season again
* up until the trade deadline, the team was 1 game below .500, then they just turned it around 34-11 !!
* The way they are winning with exciting offense; very few 2-1, 0-1 snoozers
* Even when we are down early, there is an expectation we will score and win in the end.
* Thru mid-sept, this feels a lot like the 1987 juggernaut team, hopefully no collapse this year.
* I would love to face KC in the ALCS to get back at them for the 1985 series!

mama said there would be days like this.....dont sweat, baseball is a percentage game and our bullpen has been great for a while.

That being said, Mr. Gibbons made a major mistake that cost us a run in the 8th. He should have pinch ran with Pompey as soon as Eddie got on base. Pompey would have scored on Pillar's hit 5-2 Jays. Oh well, he hasn't made many mistakes lately.

Come back tomorrow with me at the game

Sanchez is really starting to annoy me. That's 3 shaky outings in a row. And I can't stand that stupid exasperated look he has whenever he fucks up.

Do you sniff glue by chance???

This guys been lights out all year, possible rookie of the year candidate, a huge part of why this team is where it is, and this is your comment cause of one bad outing???

Seriously???

He's starting to give me the willies as well. I wonder what's up with him.

Why did they take Dickey out?

(I use to think Dickey didn't get that much run support because his favorite catcher is Thole who doesn't hit very well but to-day he could have gotten 6 runs if they left him in the game.)
