Yes he would have saw a pitcher get 30 out of 36 saves last year .
Let's hope he is a lot better than the form he showed last night.

I suspect his record last year though wouldn't have been quite so good if he had been in AL East.

Didn't management hold Santos back in spring training because he was supposedly ahead of schedule in terms of his conditioning, pitching control and such? Looks like that was a mistake. I say give him another couple of opportunities, if he fails there's always Cordero who recorded over 30 saves last year.

Very disappointed in the hitting or lack thereof. They've made every starting pitcher they've faced up to this point look like a Cy Young candidate.

Much better game last night. Let's hope Romero tonight can help them take 2 out of 3.

Closer still seems an issue as Janssen gave up 2 runs (which didn't matter). Obviously takes a special kind of pitcher to do well in that role, especially in tight games.

Excellent pitching by Romero and in the last innings by Santos. Santos in particular had a very difficult position to defend with runners on second and third and only one out when he got the ball.

Santos needed to record a save after blowing two. Romero pitched an excellent game and that should be a confidence builder for him.

Gotta get the bats going and soon!!!!!!

I went to the game last night, against the Orioles. 4 home runs and they still lost. Too bad they were all solo homers. The bullpen didn't impress, but I was wondering why Farrell left Darren Oliver in against a couple of righties. I thought he was supposed to be a lefty specialist.

You might find one of those righties were switch hitters who were better on the opposite side.

Bullpen once again couldn't hold the lead. Seems right now to be a problem across that group. Was supposed to be their strength after so many changes. Lowley, Baltimore showed them how to do it.

Let's hope they can improve quickly.

At least Rasmus is getting his batting average up (as Bautista's sinks:confused:)

No sweep as Jays win one today.
Remember when the big problem was going to the starters and the bullpen was real good? Hmmm that kind of got reversed.
Anyone catch Lawrie's bonehead move yesterday? Bases loaded 2 out Bautista at the plate and he tries to steal home. Bush league play!
Enthusiasm is one thing, stupidity is another.
Season is young, and the bats are starting to show signs of coming around, I think they will be OK.
