The bat did some good work tonight as well. They aren't crushing anyone but they did manage 5 runs.

The difference tonight was getting the hits with two out and men on base. The opportunities weren't squandered tonight as has happened too many times so far this season.

Ok, they won two in a row but watching the Jays is like watching a man stuck in quicksand. So many false hopes.

Third win in a row with 6 runs from 6 hits (thanks mainly to Stairs grand slam). 2 errors not so great though. Twins manager complained afterwards about their single error costing them the game!

Not sure about Halliday he's had a number of poor (by his standards) games. I wonder if he's 100% fit? Made hard work of winning this last game after being handed a 4 run lead.

Good night for the Jays as both Boston and TB lose. :)

I think Halladay is alright. He's been dominate if you take away a couple of innings from his record. Most nights he has to go out and be perfect to win with this offense. I think he's trying to make too many perfect pitches, especially when he gets in a little bit of trouble.

Jays sweep the Twins. The batters seem to be stepping up. That includes Inglett who scored the winning run. Rolen is proving a good swap.

Not much happening for Rios though. He did get an rbi though on a hit. Hopefully he can start to turn things round because he should be a big strength for the team.

I wouldn't stick a fork in their season just yet. The guy pitching lasting was from the minors (called up because the pitching rotation was thrown off by the Cleveland doubleheader)

Hopefully they can turn the corner. I am not really confident in J.P.'s patch work starting line up but I would rather be optimistic at this point then writing off the season.

It's no disgrace to lose to the Phillies, esp in cheesesteak land ......

Decent effort W 6:3

I noticed Hector Luna in the lineup but I can't find anything indicating that he was called up.

Infielder Hector Luna was recalled from Syracuse after David Purcey was optioned out following the disastrous pitching performance.
Thanks I still couldn't find note on there site. I figured it was something like that. There does seem to be a steady flow of players to/from the minors lately.

I found it on the MLB site

Toronto Blue Jays
Recalled INF Hector Luna from Triple-A Syracuse; optioned LHP David Purcey to Triple-A.

Thanks.
