Unprotected from what?
I mean, they have nothing to hide right?
They are all innocent folks who will be hunted by the clown Kash Patel on orders from your hero felon. IS that enough of an explanation for you or do I need to break it down further for you to comprehend??

PS...I won't so don't bother saying yes.

If it is a witch hunt, there is sure lots of things he has to worry about.
Trump has promised to weaponize the DOJ for his own purposes.
I am pretty sure we will see pretty serious undermining of democratic values from within the administration.
Didn't Biden send out messages to his Attorney General and other prosecutors that they needed to prosecute Trump?

I am pretty sure we will see pretty serious undermining of democratic values from within the administration.
From today's inauguration speech:

"During every single day of the Trump administration, I will, very simply, put America first. Our sovereignty will be reclaimed. Our safety will be restored. The scales of justice will be rebalanced. The vicious, violent and unfair weaponization of the Justice Department and our government will end. And our top priority will be to create a nation that is proud and prosperous and free."

"That is why each day under our administration of American patriots, we will be working to meet every crisis with dignity and power and strength. We will move with purpose and speed to bring back hope, prosperity, safety and peace for citizens of every race, religion, colour and creed. For American citizens, Jan. 20, 2025, is Liberation Day."

"After years and years of illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to restrict free expression, I will also sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America. Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents — something I know something about. We will not allow that to happen. It will not happen again. Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal and impartial justice under the Constitution and the rule of law. And we are going to bring law and order back to our cities."

"This week, I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based. As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female. This week I will reinstate any service members who were unjustly expelled from the military for objecting to the COVID vaccine mandate with full back pay. And I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being subjected to radical political theories and social experiments while on duty. It's going to end immediately. Our armed forces will be free to focus on their sole mission —defeating America's enemies. Like in 2017, we will again build the strongest military the world has ever seen."

Talking points.
However the actions underlying accomplishing many of these, undermine democratic values.
Such as "ending weaponization of the DOJ".
He will claim to end it, by actually weaponizing the DOJ and using it against people he deems guilty of weaponizing the DOJ.

This is what bugs me about democrats/liberals. They make assumptions and speak about it as if it's a well proven fact. Trump is going to do this and that, so he must be thinking this and that... and when none of it comes to life, they come up with a new fable to obsess about.

If none of it comes to life, then I would be happy.
I do believe many things he threatens people with, including "mass deportations" have very low chance of actual success.
But when the President of the US says he will do something you have to take it seriously even if there is low chance of it ever happening.
In the US, this means the Dems have to brace and do everything in their power to not allow Trump to succeed in doing things that could seriously hurt people or undermine democracy.
Hopefully they are up for the fight.

He was elected as a president of the United States because he made certain election promises. Now, you're suggesting that democrats need to get in the way of carrying out those promises because democracy must be preserved??

Has it occurred to you that people want him to do what he promised to do? Such as border wall, deportation, no more countless genders, boys in girl's sports etc. Democrats lost for a reason. The reason is because their agenda doesn't resonate with the most of the country. Take a hint.

I think you are saying they will take the Fifth anyway.

I'm not sure you can take the Fifth unless you are at risk of incriminating yourself. You can't incriminate yourself if you have already been pardoned. I suspect someone like Liz Cheney will find ways to not cooperate with a House Committee.

You might remember I told members to take second hand testimony from a young aspiring book writer who worked in the White House with a grain of salt.

Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another you been messin' around
Please, Earp. It's in clear English.

They did nothing wrong. So they need not take the 5th. There you go.

They actually lost - marginally - due to resentment against massive inflation in the last couple of years in the US.

But anyway. His Executive Order banning birthright citizenship is clearly contradicted by the 14th Amendment. It's about as valid as me declaring my left ball Lord-Emperor of Mississauga.

So yep. It's going to be opposed. Because the law is - after all - the law. Just like Trump can't one day say that he can kill people and not face a murder charge.

The American electorate is not concerned with preserving democracy.
They are ideologues. Many of them are also quite stupid.
Just because the MAGA cult wants him to do something, and he promises to do it, does not mean it should be done.
This is why we have checks and balances in the system, which I hope the Democrats make full use of.

If they did nothing wrong, then why did Biden give them pre-emptive pardons.....LMAO??
The same reason why police officers wear bullet proof vests out in public when not in a gun fight.
To prevent the Orange orangutan from unfairly targeting him for doing his job and saving lives.

Well Done Joe! It would have been a tragedy to leave these folks unprotected with Trump and his crazy hand-picked cabinet coming in. Patel is a nutbag.

If you support these actions you're basically condoning deep state corruption. Which makes you an opponent of representative democracy. Let me guess you have a picture of Mao Zedong as your screen saver?

I'll agree with birth right. There should be some stipulations though. Can't just fly to the country, have a baby and automatically get a citizenship.

Democrats didn't lose marginally. They got smashed. Lost congress and senate too.

And it wasn't just the economy. People are tired of gender ideology, race baiting, wokeism, cancel culture etc. People said ENOUGH!

That's the thing with false narrative and corrupt mainstream media. You know that Trump went after his opponents and opposition, but you can't give any names. What a pickle.

From the top of my head:
- illegal surveillance of Trump election camp in 2016
- Steele dossier (supposedly verified as true by intelligence agencies)
- Russia Russia Russia
- Dems set up Michael Flynn immediately after Trump was sworn in
- Comey goes after Trump shortly after inauguration
- constant leaks and anonymous sources shitting on Trump and his administration
- 2 impeachment attempts
- dozens of madeup lawsuits
- Steve Bannon was jailed (hope I'm getting his name right and I don't remember reasons why he was put away)
- countless investigations
- Jan 6
- Mar A Lago raid
- villifying Trump in every MSM, Trump is a threat to democracy narrative, Nazi etc
- assassination attempts
.... etc etc etc
Look at how full of delusion your list is.
You wouldn't look at real sources, read them, and think for yourself if I did all the library and research work for you and laid them out on your kitchen table.

We are dealing with complete epistemological capture.
It's quite sad, really.

Still. Those real facts are out there for you to find if you try one day.

In the meantime, as I said, given his track record of weaponizing the government against his enemies in his first term, coupled with his current rhetoric and the different situation he finds himself in with regards to support in the GOP, I have every expectation it will be much worse this time.

That's crazy, how is that even legal? Trump should pardon himself and his friends for all the future possible cases.
It's always been legal.
The Presidential Pardon power is not a good thing.
It's had deep and severe flaws since the beginning and many people have called for it to be reformed for years now.
