Apple still in the game

Your subject line appears misleading, based on this quote from your second link:
Apple’s mobile OS still blew away its next closest competitor (and still grew 20 percent in terms of device shipments year over year)

Haven't you figured it out yet? Fuji is a Headlines kinda guy...

Having said that, I predicted a year ago that Apple's shine would start to fade... Jobs was the driving force. Without him, they are dead in the water... It'll take some time, mind you... he has a very large following.

Apple looks invincible sitting on piles of cash with a devoted fan base.... but so did RIM.

Except that RIM's CEO and co-founder was more interested in becoming an NHL mogul than keeping his products relevant. Except taht RIM did not take 3rd party app development as an opportunity, rather they viewed it as a PITA and dissuaded developers through a labyrith of bs.

But carry on with your Apple bashing. Does Rob Ford use one of these of something? :D

My guess is that people are getting tired of Apple's refusal to offer features the competition have on their smartphones. For example, replaceable batteries, expandable memory, mini-HDMI port etc.

I had to laugh, my buddy recently had to replace a charger that failed for one of his 4 Apple products. He has an iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini, and a MacBook Air. Yes that's right, each device has a unique charger so he can't use one of the others. On top of that, the new charger was $80. What a joke!

Apple copied the Sony business model.

I've got an iPhone5 and love it. But truthfully I'm glad I sold my apple stock at $750 when it peaked.

Apple will be just fine, they earn 57% of smartphone profits http://www.dailyfinance.com/2013/09/16/will-this-company-break-apple-and-samsungs-smartph/

and I'd guess their share of tablet profits dwarf that.... they are the largest music vendor, largest mobile apps vendor, have a healthy PC business and a market cap > $100B larger than Google's.....

I wouldn't lose any sleep on Apple's behalf.

Yeah, their past sounds great. Too bad about the current product line.

AllThingsD: carriers indicate lower than usual iPhone 5s stock ahead of Friday's launch:
http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/17/allthingsd-iphone-5s-launch-shortage/

...sources from multiple US carriers are showing "grotesquely" low inventory leading up to Friday's iPhone 5s launch. It's worth noting that stock numbers typically fall short of the demand (especially at the start), but it seems that this release may be even worse than years past...

Night clubs do this too. Make people line up even though the club is empty, to make it look popular.

Apple knows it has a lemon. Artificially limiting availability will make it seem like it is popular when it isn't.

You can speculate until you are blue in the face.
But, the true indicator is when Apple releases numbers next year. So take a chill pill.

Never drunk to Apple Kool Aid, lining up for something as frivolous as a cell phone is a waste of life. I use my Samsung Galaxy S3 as a GPS for out of town trips, good luck doing that with an Iphone.

Apples should not go down the drain. Even if you have a garburator, it is far better put it in the green bin or a compost.

This thread must be about apples in your sink or else wouldn't it be in the tech forum?

LOL,

There are millions of people who do that with an iPhone, what are you babbling about.
