Rio Ferdinand and Silvestre are the 2 best Defensive Players of ManU.

I think Giggs, Keane and Butt are Finished... you can See it, when they make an Effort, it takes them long to recover and run again.
Djemba is a Good Player, give him Time.
Ronaldo is Still Too young to play the Game Properly, when he will really understand that it is about speeding up the plays and not wait to dribble before Passing he will be Very Good.
Saha needs more time but he will score
Bellion is not good in my Books (waste of Money)

anyone bought tickets for this series yet, there are two matches scheduled now in Toronto : Celtic vs AS Roma, and Liverpool vs Porto
they are steep price wise ranging from 50 to 135 but there are those who are fanatical enough not to care :)

Italy announced their team for Euros...no Inzaghi, thank god, it was nice to see 5 Lazio players make the team...and Portugal only brought 3 strikers (Pauleta, Nuno Gomes and Postiga)...their attack doesnt look all that threatening.

I read that Inzaghi may still make the team if he can show he's totally fit. He had ankle surgery a while back. I agree that they're better off without him.

So who's gonna be Italy's main striker now???
Vieri???? I'm sure Del Piero isnt being considered, is he??
And what about Gilardino??? I think he should get a chance.

Have to figure England have a good shot @ Euro 2004.
With the likes of Beckham, Michael Owen, Paul Scholes, Sol
Campbell etc.. very talented. There Defence might be a concern
with Rio Ferdinad being Suspended. So let,s here you say
it Vanessa "C,MON ENGLAND!" lol..

The only thing England will be doing is chasing the ball around.

Which sums up what they always end up doing at any of the championships (ie WC, Euro) they manage to qualify. --- Kev

I have to jog my memory but England has never won the Euro, correct?? Only the WC in 1966 if I'm not mistaken. I really dont think they'll do it this year but you never know.

Sol Campbell talented?? Praps you don't remember the Brazil game in the WC. Ronaldino running at the defence. Rio Ferdinand backing up in front of Ronaldino. What was Campbell doing? He figured his job was to back up Ferdinand! We leaned it at school -- don't leave your man unmarked while you chase the man with the ball -- make sure all the guys he might pass to are covered. Especially don't leave your post to back up a man like Ferdinand. But in the heat of the moment, when instinct takes over, that's what Campbell did. He left Rivaldo unmarked, and the day was lost. Fakking Rivaldo, of all people. We learned it at school! Talented? Micahel Owen, yes. Not Sol Campbell. Jesus Christ.

Even though I'm originally from Paris and also love Holland, I remember my first world cup on TV was in 1966 when England won in that incredible game against Germany......so I'll always have a soft spot for them.......and I love the ambiance when their fans are tapping hands and feet in rhytm and chanting ENGLAND!!!!....all the beauty of football is right there.......

Well then maybe England and their fans should join a marching band, 'cause they ain't going to be winning any championships anytime soon. And i am not anti-England. I would like to see them win the "Big One", but when you look at their team compared to the other teams i don't see them winning. --- Kev

Hold on Kev. what is that i hear u singing? "send her victorious
happy and glorius, love to reing over us, god save the queen"
"C,MON ENGALND" Ironmonger the only reason England lost
to Brazil 2 years ago is because Daivd Seamen (yes ok make
jokes cause of his last name) had a brain cramp. That "cheap"
goal by Ronaldino or whatever that jerrycurl,s name is had a free
pass. otherwise that game goes into penalty kicks. England
had so much pressure on Brazil in the second half. Benhur, your
right they have the best fans anywhere! Not the idiots who get
so drunk and cause riots, but the loyal ones inside the stadium.
always supporting. To bad Leaf fans don,t know what means. The
Big E, the only thing France will Be smoking is awful French
cigarettes, cause there gonna need it! How many games did they
win in the WC 2 yrs ago? "what" i think 0 games? did,nt they lose
to Senegal? Here,s a breakdown of the following contenders.
France-can they get over the WC tradgey 2 yrs ago? Italy-who the hell scores on this team? so defensive. Netherlands- so overated! always in the semis,s but flame out. did,nt they have to go to a playoff to qualify? Spain-once again show promise but
never there. Repeat for host Portugal. And how can we not forget Germany. well maybe we should not forget them. Old team though. So you see how England has a great chance. Now only
if you guys could "bend it like Beckham" i,m sure he does that
to Posh. lol..

Last time I checked, France won the World Cup in 98, and the European Cup in 2000. When's the last time England won anything?

Yeah Emile Heskey is going to run rough shot over the rest of Europe.

Like Kev, I am not anti-England, they just arent that good compared to other teams.

Ironmonger?????????

Seaching for the spirit of '66

Well topcat heres a quote. "England are one of the great football nations. The country which gave the world the game is rich in football heritage. But, save for a FIFA World Cup win in 1966, the scale of the national side's achievements rarely matches the expectations of an English public who consider success a birthright."

England and France play June 13th. The game will be televised on TSN. Although England has never lost to France (two wins 1966 and 1982 in WC and a 0-0 draw in Euro 92) I predict a win for France. Actually Croatia and France to advance out of group B. --- Kev

1998? that is ancient history dude. Look Engalnd is very
good compared to other teams. fact of the matter is they
don,t give up many goals. In 98 the lost in penalty.s to
Aregentina. then they were in the quaters against Brazil
in 02.
