Thx Jessica ... I think I will call godaddy rather than email
Lacy if you need any help offline with sorting out who is doing what for a website, pm me. There can be a difference between who is hosting the dns versus the site, etc. Cloudflare will help hide the true IP's of the web host, but there should be other ways.

Last day or two I'm now being automatically redirected by cloudflare without having to retype the captcha. Basically, works fine now BUT:

1. Site is still not https, and

2. Forum runner still broken

So thanks for fixing cloud flare but can we at least get https back? Considering the contents of the site it would be nice to know it was secure.
Pretty funny that they are worried about spammers and install this horrible firewall yet they leave passwords wide open to hacking. Pretty easy to do on a non https site for even a beginner hacker that has been given the gift of passwords transmitted over http.

Probably always a good practice to not have the same PW on multiple sites but make sure it is unique here because it will be stolen just a matter of time.

Can you imagine the damage if they grab a mod or admin password?

Not much damage ! ! We don't store your credit card information or real name here. Just your ip address which for practical purposes is not of not much use to anyone, not even to LE unless they 've a court order and solid proof you committed a crime. The website even if hacked can be fully restored in a few days. The Cloudfare firewall is here to stay so get used to it or find another website that is more to your liking !!

If that is the case can you please tell us how it is supposed to function? Is the normal mode to ask us to verify each and every time we log in? And every time we make a post? There are posts that suggest otherwise so if there's something we can do to minimize the inconvenience that would be appreciated.

If a hacker grabs and admin password they can bring down the site or at least change it dramatically. But if you want to be down again for several days undoing damage got for it. But I guess there are lots of forum sites that require password but are non https.

I just think this firewall can be more user friendly. I get on dozens of sites including those of financial institutions and this is the only site that has that issue.

Tons of controversy over cloudfare. Those interested might want to do some searching. Much of it does have to do with phishing which is more email related. Have not found anything on DOS and similar attacks which it seems to be used for here.

Yes...at the beginning for about 5 -10 seconds is normal, or if you step away from your computer for a few minutes and leave the TERB page open.
But the page should load much faster than before once you are logged in. Other than that I'm studying the manual as well... maybe there is a way to tweak the software but personally I've tested the software from several different ISPs and Wi-Fi hotspots it works just fine for me.

Most sites like ours are backed-up on a different server, so assuming a hacker were to completely destroy Terb we can just restore the site from a back-up server within a day or two.

I am fortunate in that I am not having any trouble on any device except the few seconds while cloudfare is running which does not bother me but it does seem odd in this day and age. It is a pain when typing a long post, then you lose everything when you hit submit. Under those circumstances I am now typing longer posts in MS Word just in case. No big deal really

As am I. I am also getting into the habit of using some hot keys to do quick copy of my shorter posts.

For those that don't know - When you are done typing, you simply need to hit the CTRL + A buttons to highlight your entire post and then the CTRL + C buttons to copy. If you should lose what you wrote, when you get back to the posting page, simply hit the CTRL + V buttons to paste what you copied. For Mac, is it the Command key instead of CTRL.

From the CloudFlare site:

"Breaking the cycle of malware - Websites are empowered to inform visitors with compromised computers so these visitors can take action to clean the malware infection."

Has anyone received notice that malware resides on their computer?

I use MS word as well, especially with my spelling !! But there's always a delay when using cloud, and with a site this big its no wonder, my only concern is, where is it stored ??? :eyebrows:

What is ironic is that according to the coudfare site, cloudfare is supposed to speed things up.

They can't tell if your PC is infected with malware. What they can do is to ASSUME your PC has been infected by accessing a list of IPs that have been suspected of spamming. Frankly I don't see how that works. Most people have a dynamic IP. Chances are it was not you doing the spamming but someone else from some time in the past either knowingly or unknowingly you IP was been changed since then so all you do is taint that IP for the use by someone else. Preventing your IP access really punishes you for soemthing which you did not have a part.

So you're telling the folks who make the effort to take the time and go to the trouble of writing reviews, that's if it's too big of a headache to submit reviews , your ok without them???? Hmmmm. Seems not very solution focused. Hope terb doesn't lose too many contributors this way. If my current obstacles persist in logging on I will be reading reviews, but screw writing them I think
In the long haul,This board will lose out if management adopts a take it or leave it attitude. Seems a bit juvenile, with all due respect

Wow selfish much??

Ever give a thought about how long it takes to build an ad? We are paid advertisers and it's taking just as long to build an ad as it is for you to make a post.

We are managing ... And we are paying to do so...... my sympathy for you is limited.[/QUOTE

Not understanding why you are feeling the need to be judgemental. Never the less,
For sure we are coming from different perspectives You're end is business, mine is occasional recreational pursuits. From what I've been reading, some folks who have tried writing posts, have had their information disappear. I'm not up for that sort of frustration is all I'm saying. I'm certainly not looking for sympathy either. I suck it up when I have to go in for root canals. Other than those, I stick with paths of least resistance. If it's going to become a royal pain to post reviews, I will simply refrain. So that's a net loss to the board as I've written some pretty good reviews over the years.... Just sayin
