Alex was the truth. Track #1 on his self titled debut album, released in 1985. In the video producers Jimmy Jam on the keyboards and Terry Lewis on the upright bass. Cooler than a polar bear's toenails.
Maze feat. Frankie Beverly "Joy and Pain". This was released in 1980. My favorite song from them.

This was the first Teena Marie song I can remember hearing. Little did I know at the time just how good her discography was and would be.

Those
songs and many other similar songs like the CHI lite Oh Girl, Have you seen her, and others were responsible for my meeting, dancing and love making in my early 20s, going to dance clubs in Toronto were the best years of my past.
X.. i eat this kinda music up like my favourite candy......ive heard this tune before a few times but it had escaped my memory bank.....thanks for the post....going back now for a 2nd helping ..lol
