her best work was on the Cadet label..........my Mt Rushmore member
Saw her at the Club Bluenote years ago, sat in the front row close to stage. She came on wearing a light lavender coloured dress, by the time she finished her dress was deep purple, lol, but she put on a great show, fantastic.

Jungle Brothers in the house. Underrated hip hop group from the late 80's and early 90's

Tatyana Ali played Ashlee Banks on the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air starring Will Smith. After the Fresh Prince she ended up embarking on a music career. This was one of her bigger hits. Samples Bobby Caldwell's What You Won't Do For Love and Kool & the Gang's Summer Madness.

the Mad Lads...decent group who recorded songs on the Stax label.....the lead singer sounded like Sam Cooke on some of those songs
Yes they were on the Volt record label which was a Stax subsidiary. I've listened to a few of their songs this one I posted I liked the most.

Jean had some kind of voice. I think this was a cover of another artist but she killed it. Produced by jazz great Grover Washington Jr.

This one came across my feed yesterday and I've played it 3 times already. Wow what a funky jam. That late 70's/early 80's era was 🔥
