I said this once today but this post takes the cake. By far the DUMBEST post I've ever read in my ENTIRE LIFE.
As an avid pot smoker I will argue to the whole "gateway" drug stance. However I won't argue that cocaine, crack cocaine, heroine, crystal meth, extacy, glue sniffing and gas sniffing is dangerous to oneself AND society.
Imagine a country where all of these are legal. How prosperous would that country be? The only upswing would be in drug related travellers who come for the freedom of getting high.
On the reverse, lets look at the ramifications of such an idea.
With decriminalization and legalization comes the mentality that it's okay to do drugs. Kids, adults, men and women of all kinds start using it. Why not? It's legal right. Businesses, not illegal drug dealers, will start closing down. Why? Because the drive, the passion and the sheer free market stance of this great country will topple. People will lose their will to work. They will be addicts that do drugs and will find ways to do more drugs. Give it to them for free or cheap? Great, so they won't have to rob as much to pay for the drugs.
History teaches us a lot about present day problems. In China back in the 1800's, there was a thing called the Opium Wars. Why did it come down to a war? The English introduced China (Hong Kong) to the wonders of this great substance. The reach was far spread. Peasants, businessmen and even clergymen were becoming addicted to this wonderous drug. Then it started becoming apparent that there was a definite downside to the drug. The total loss of ambition. The once great country of China who was so rich in culture, technology and wealth was starting to become stagnant. The emporer outlawed opium and that was that. Except England didn't like it, blasted the shit out of the harbor town (Hong Kong) and made China give up the land which was the most prosperous city in the whole kingdom.
Anyways, all I'm saying is that if you want a country that is filled with drugged up zombies that run amok, then sign up for the "free or cheap drug" program.
I for one want a productive country where harmful substances are outlawed.
