Algerian Imane Khelif moved past Angela Carini when the Italian abandoned their 66kg fight after 46 seconds in the first round on Thursday

Italian welterweight Angela Carini quit her bout against Algerian Imane Khelif after only 46 seconds. Carini said she had never been hit harder. She refused to shake hands.

International Boxing Association disqualified Algerian Imane Khelif and Taiwanese Lin Yu-ting from last year's women boxing championships because they had male XY chromosones. But the IOC stripped the IBA of its accreditation powers and allowed the two boxers to fight at the Olympic games. And the result was the disgrace yesterday.

All fighters should forfeit their bouts against the two "male" boxers and hand them the victories.

Sorry the Canadians didn't play that well. They did better in the other games. I don't get it they managed to beat France.

Is it me or there seems to be a lot of athletes getting screwed over by rule changes or bad calls in this Olympics?

Even with one half of their offensive game plan nursing an injury, it still took the Germans to PK to defeat them. Janine played hurt, remember what happened when Roberto Baggio played the WC Final with a hamstring strain.

For a Pict, Golden Delicious has a lovely Roman schnoz.

3 lousy PK's by Canada compared to 3 perfect PK's by Germany, that sums it up.
The coaches should've spent more time on PK instead of wasting time spying with a drone lol.

Boxing group to award prize money to Carini despite loss to Khelif

PARIS, Aug 3 (Reuters) - The International Boxing Association (IBA) will award Italy's Angela Carini, who lost her welterweight round-of-16 bout against Algerian Imane Khelif at the Paris Olympics in 46 seconds on Thursday, $50,000 in prize money, it said on Friday.
Carini pulled out in the first round after the Algerian, who is at the heart of a gender row, pummelled the Italian with a barrage of punches.
The IBA, which was stripped of its international recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) last year, said Carini would receive $50,000, her federation a further $25,000 and her coach an additional $25,000.

"I do not understand why they killed women's boxing," IBA President Umar Kremlev said. "Only eligible athletes should compete in the ring for the sake of safety. I could not look at her tears."
