The Habs biggest Leaf killer is Josh Anderson.
This season:
7 games
4 goals
1 assist

Two of the goals were in Game 1 of the season.
Not exactly a mass Leaf murderer.

Glam is the master of the hyperbole. But he means well. He just gets overly excited.

Lets put some perspective here. Phil Kessel also had a good shot and very few think much of him. That last goal Campbell was screened.
Can we at least wait till he rips some past a goalie clean like Kessel can do before we anoint him on par with Matthews.
Being a long suffering habs fan with teams that could not score.. Im just happy he is on the team...now lets see what he can do..

I think the better comparable would be DeBrincat. The clear goal leader on the Black Hawks and same stature. If he can reach that level then sure celebrate.

The Leafs won't let the Habs clinch, the Habs are going to have to earn it. Jake Allen was good though, the Leafs couldn't score after, until the best goal scorer in the NHL said "40".

I think that if you consider which team had more motivation/reasons to win this game, your question is easily answered.
Montreal doesn’t have much motivation right now as they have all but clinched — even if it’s not mathematical.

Remember they played an absurd schedule since the beginning of April, playing 5 more games than the leafs for example. They are in a winding down position now.

The leafs are clear favourite, the habs are not that good, but the last 2 games are likely not good indicators of what they are either.

I was considering that the possibility of catching Winnipeg would be their motivation.

Two losses in 2 nights has now hurt those prospects, but the post of mine you quoted was before those 2 losses and Habs' chances for 3rd looked much more realistic then.

Don't know why Glam is so focused on his clinches. Calgary 10 pts behind and Vancouver 14 pts behind. Calgary and Vancouver still have 4 games against each other. Both can't be winners in the same game. They may even start the playoffs while Calgary/Vancouver are still finishing off their regular season games.
Once the playoffs start the regular season means nothing. Montreal is not playing Primeau in the playoffs.

I thought Matthews would get some rest for Saturday's game but judging by the lineups in practice, it looks like Matthews is playing.
