Price stole game 1. He robbed Marner. Nylander unlucky he hit the crossbar. Give credit to Perry he's a veteran he knows he had to answer the bell after Tavares went down.

I give Perry credit for "answering the bell" but I don't give Foligno any credit for ringing it in the first place. The play happened at speed - Perry tried to avoid hitting Tavares - so he has to "answer" for the result of an accidental injury that was no fault of his??

Scary situation for sure but not Perry's fault.

Perry didn't have any control of the situation. If he tried to jump over Tavares, the Leaf Captain would have ended up like Borje Salming...or worse Clint Melarchuk. Perry had a nanosecond to make a decision - if that.

Still no word of Tavares condition.

Price didnt steal anything, habs played a good game, he is part of the team
Honestly, both goalies played well. Campbell was the victim of the fluke goal, but otherwise was pretty solid. I don't think goaltending on either team was the deciding factor in MTL's win.

Embarassed to be a Habs fan right now. Losing two in a row to the Maple Laughs. Imagine being on the 2021 Habs roster this year that let the Leafs advance to round 2 for the first time since 1979. wtf. Caufield comes back in and is a dud. Price keeps them close in playoffs. Stats prove it. But he gets zero help up front.

If the Leafs win, will it be time to dump Bergevin?

I'm going to refrain from trash-talking the Habs and post memes just in case the Habs sting the Leafs tonight and Habs fans will be jumping on us.

They could take the knee out a few more times and it probably won't make a difference.

If the Leafs win, Carey Price needs to request a trade to a potential Stanley Cup team. Kinda like Lebron James and Tom Brady when they want to win another ring. lol
Tom Brady has never been traded.
LeBron James moved from Cleveland to Miami in a sign & trade deal.
He was gone regardless, it was a financial decision (for LBJ) & helped the Cavaliers with draft picks.

I think the Habs have put in a solid effort this round. They are clearly not the better team and they have kept the series tight. Some bad penalties they have taken has been their biggest problem.

if you were to be embarrassed about the team it should be before the series. Bergy has put together an average squad.

As for Cole Caufield. Not sure what you watched. He played quite well and created many chances. He won’t score a goal every game ... he played to the pace of a 30 goal scorer since he has been here which is fine unless your expectations are out of whack.

He has played well this series, but the last few regular seasons have not been great and teams are not going to want to take on that contract. Canadiens would need to add kicker to the deal or eat a good portion of the contract.

He can try to force a deal all he wants but he won’t have teams knocking the door down for him.

Yes, but he has a case to stick around.

Bergevin has actually did a good job this past year. He had good off-season in getting Anderson, toffoli, Allen, Edmundson.

He had also built up decent young players in recent years that are now helping the current squad — Suzuki,Romanov, caufield, Primeau.

But now is where I turn on him. Despite the good off-season and the team finally getting good prospects the team is still average. That just shows how terrible a job he did before this past year. Player development and drafting for most of his reign has been really really bad. He claimed last year the draft was just a crapshoot when challenged about it FFS. The KK pick was not good. The Drouin trade was very flawed. But overall his trades have not been the issue — just really bad player development.

The only way Carey Price leaves the Montreal Canadiens is if Carey Price wants to leave.
And, he can dictate where he wants to go.
The finances are a matter for Montreal & the acquiring team to hash out.
He does have 5 years left at $10,500,000/Year ($52,500,000).
Actual cash remaining is $44,250,000.

They win the first and take out one of the other teams best plays.
Still manage to lose 3 straight. Did Montreal also sell Babe Ruth and we just never heard about it.

Montreal got the wrong Staal. The other Staal scored in OT for Carolina. Galchenyuk stung the habs tonight. After the whistles, the Habs keep trying to corner Matthews to goat him into taking penalties but Matthews won't bite.
