Carey Price was - well Carey Price - Vegas dominated but Price was in vintage form.
Plante was before my time but I've seen all the great Canadien goalies since. Dryden, Vachon, Worsley, Roy and Cup or no Cup Price is right up there.

Years ago when I was still living in Montreal they gave us a tour of the old Montreal Forum (no players present). There was a sign on the wall that said "Find a Way".

Also before your time Bill Durnan......Anxiety attacks forced an early retirement.

Shots were actually Montreal 22 Las Vegas 20 to close the game out.... before that it was massive advantage Vegas but price kept it close.

But they controlled OT, and kept it tight and close in the second half of regulation.

I don't think in Montreal's 7 game win streak they ever not have the lead.
What if Vegas sweeps Montreal who swept Jets who swept Edmonton.

Well if that happens the Habs will still have won 3 more playoff series in the last 2 years than those mighty Maple Leafs and I think it would mean Vegas is the Cup final wouldn't it?
Other than that it would not mean much.

Time to think of a new scenario. (Meant to be a reply to the post you responded to, not your post NOS).
maurice93 - no problem but thanks for clarifying your post. You are not wrong though - I should probably stop reminding Leaf's fans that their team has not won a playoff series since - what year was that again?? So many, many years ago that I forget.

But hey Auston Matthews won "best dressed player" to go with his "worst imitation of a porn star mustache" award - so there is always that. (oh and he is a Justin Bieber fan boy so that's really cool) Now he just needs to visit the Wizard to get a playoff "heart".

Okay now I will move on to a new scenario.

OT goal tunover at the opposition blue line 2 on the goalie break away back the other way for the winner.
Sounds familiar?
It was a terrible play by the Vegas defenseman lobbing the puck up ice then goes off for a line change.
The lob made it extremely difficult for the forward to handle.
Hence why the better play would have been to hold onto the puck until the team completes the line change.

Amazing what’s happening! So far the Habs get the rebound when it counts! Price is in a bubble. Perfect timing! One things the Habs do not have right now in this serie is the refs… They are calling none on Vegas. Good thing the Habs are what like 23 on 23 in inferiority?

They have let in 3 power play goals and have scored 4 short-handed, which is crazy because I think they have had like 40 penalties called on them.

Also, all 4 OT's were fairly short. Less wear and tear on the body.

I also like how Captain Weber went after McNabb(?) for the hit on Suzuki.

Good news, no Canadien player infected with COVID.

More good news, the Coach is walking and talking and should be back after his quarantine.

The refereeing is atrocious. Perry gets cut and no call. I was really worried they would find an excuse to disallow Anderson's OT goal (high stick or something stupid like that).
Perry gets away with a lot of dirty fuckery...it all evens out.

Well I guess they can't win every OT game.

And as far as Hab's fans being quiet - Leaf's fans really should not be talking at all or just yelling "Fore" like their favorite Leaf's players.. The Leafs must all be good golfers - they have all summer long every single year to work on their game.
