Excuse me?
What exactly are you calling pathetic?
You say HABS deserved to win and then you follow with a bunch of excuses. lol Weise basically said Lucic was a sore loser. He never disclosed what was said. The media found out what Lucid said with the aid of a lip reader.

I think he is pretty clear.
Bigdik .... you are.
So let's get this straight then, shall we.........

You and Maurice 93, 2 trolls with no actual sports knowledge, are calling me pathetic for an objective post acknowleding that the Habs were the better team and disputing the kneejerk comments of a couple of other posters?

Let's highlight my post, shall we?

Habs deserved it.
Weise is a pussy
Lucic does stupid things but every team in the league would love to have him.
As stated on HNIC there was a decided habs bias in the officiating in period 1 of game 7. Not Grapes. Hughson, Simpson and Healy.
Burrows bit Bergeron. Rome gooned Horton.
There is racism in the world. Boston is a city in the world. The tweeters after game 1 are idiots.
Habs deserved to win. Shawn Thornton is an idiot.
PK Subban is a good but flawed player who is an idiot. Brad Marchand is a good but flawed player who is an idiot.
Everyone would love to have both idiots on their team.

That's the summary.
Maybe both of you would like to summarize the shit you post in this forum. If you honestly think it's well thought out and rational I'm sorry. Mine is. Yours isn't.
Cheers!

I made no excuses. Everything in my post was in response to other posts. There are no excuses. Habs won, deserved to win, and have a good shot at getting to the final.
Weise said what he said, now he's backpedalling because he broke the "code". Lucic is an idiot but he is also a hell of a player. Weise was part of neutralizing him, so apparently he's a pretty fair player too. He's still a pussy.

lol The "I'm going to f** kill you next time" was obtain by a lip reader. Go watch espn... They acknowledge that it's from a lip reader...

Anyway, what happened to the "code" in which the series ending handshakes signify the end of hostilities? It may have been said on the ice but the game was OVER. At that point, players should have had the time to calm down and realize that the battle is OVER. I usually see sportsmanship and see/hear players saying "good game", "I appreciate it", "good luck", etc... This is the first time I see a player act this way during the traditional handshake. The body language was so obvious. Why bother with the handshake if you are going to be a A-hole?

and no, what's said on the ice does not always stay on the ice. A good example is the St-Louis/Chicago series. It was leaked that after the Seabrook hit, some Chicago players said: 'Wakey Wakey Backes'. At least they can say that it was said in the heat of the moment and not when the series is over.

"The Code" is fairly simple, no? What is said on the ice stays there. A lot is said in that line. At that point the players have not nearly had time to "calm down". There's a lot of emotion. The code is essentially that it would be bad form to drop someone in the handshake line. That's it, and that was always it. Weise didn't say what Lucic said, he did say he felt "threatened".
He is a pussy! I guarantee he is looked at that way by his peers.
There have been line brawls in the handshake line. The handshake line is a ridiculously stupid tradition. It's a miracle no one has been badly hurt in the handshake line.
Billy Smith had it right. I get paid to beat you. I don't like you. I don't want to shake your hand, win or lose. He won a bit.

Wherever I shouldn't be
Kings do it again, what a great game. What a mountain to climb with both the Sharks and Ducks. Will truly be sad to see Salanne gone next year. :(

Montreal - NY: Just a reminder Sat is a 1pm game

Chicago - LA: On Sun is a 3pm game.

Not much for afternoon games, but no need to moan, when you can record ..lol
Hope both these matchups are good, rough battles.
Kings/Hawks should be a classic!
Rangers/Habs should actually be fun, Rangers play a fun game and Habs are playing awfully well.

L.A. vs MTL in the final??? A rematch of the last time Canada won the cup in 1993?
Maybe, but it won't be easy. Hawks are awfully good and have everything you need to win, obviously. Should be fun to watch.
Rangers/Habs could go either way too.

Here all along I thought I knew something about some things.

A self analysis ... this is where I figured this is about to get better.

So I was not rational yet for some reason you felt the need to respond with a long diatribe ? OK ... whatever

Mine is. Yours isn't.
This is the best line of the whole post, maybe the whole thread.
Short, sweet, to the point.

Ga-damn look at what happens when Leaf fans and Montreal fans agree.

Habs deserved to win, they kept the Bruins off their game. Whenever they seemed to be taking over the Habs countered, but..........
Price was the difference, funny people were questioning if he was good enough only a few months ago. He was textbook perfect in this series, and so far in these playoffs.

Weise is a P@#$y! Awww, the big bad Bruin threatened me? Really? Anyone who has ever passed through a handshake line knows it's not always pretty, and is probably the most ridiculous tradition in sports.

Lucic has poor judgement at times but he is decidedly not "a mutt". He is one of the very few players in hockey who can take over an entire game with clean physical play. He has an edge and definitely crosses the line at times but every single team in the NHL would love to have him.

What Grapes said in game 7 was 100% accurate. The officiating in the first period was reminiscent of the '70's. It was brutal. On the first penalty Marchand was mugged and went to the box. The snow penalty in a game 7 was just as ridiculous a call. That said, officiating didn't cost the Bruins the game, or the series.
The comment about the '11 final is insane. Alex Burrows BIT Bergeron!!!!! Aaron Rome gooned Horton, who has never been the same. WTF?

Ironhead, let the racism thing go. It was a few idiots. Again, you've obviously never been to Montreal. Or Toronto. or anywhere, for there are racist idiots everywhere. At least as many in Montreal as Boston.

Habs won, they deserved it! Bruins were sadly passive. There really wasn't much dirty hockey in this series. Thornton's water bottle incident was asinine, but he didn't bite anyone!

PK Subban is a very good offensive defenseman who is well known as a defensive liability. He is also an idiot. That has nothing to do with race, or team allegiance. I'm a Bruins fan. I think Marchand is an idiot, but I'd rather have him with me than against me. That's how i feel about Subban as well.
hey man, bruin fan here as well. I agree with everything you said, officiating in first period was brutal, but that's not why they lost. habs were the better team over 7 games. if some of those posts we hit go in... who knows. and subban is a liability on defence, he,s not a bad player, but their making this guy out to be the next mike pelyk. and I agree about the 'disrespect' thing, wtf was he talking about? the water spray? if it was lucic punching his sweater after a goal, he,s been doing that all year. its a tribute to the 'boston strong' theme, not a disrespectful image.

re 2011.....

Rome was suspended for the rest of the playoffs for his check on Horton.
Horton came back pretty strong in 12-13 short-season,missed games this yr,dunno how that relates to 2011

Burrows not suspended for alleged bite on Bergeron.League office said something like "not enough evidence to conclude that Burrows intentionally
bit Bergeron"
remember, Bergeron made an ill-advised attempt to emulate his knuckle-dragging goon teammates by facewashing Burrows and got his fingers
in B's mouth.
Bergeron should stick to what he does well....play hockey.

Bruins were given license to do what they wanted with no consequences...and they did it well.
This made it all the more enjoyable to watch them exit the last two seasons by choking.......on HOME ICE.yea, Boston strong!

But,look on the bright side.....your teddy-bears get an extra month to work on their golf game.

On the Edge
If over the last 5yrs, the Pens had exited first round, then yes, I'd agree changes should happen. But six yrs ago, the Pens won the cup.
Over the last 5yrs they have 2 - First round exits, 2 - Second round exits, and 1 - Conference final. That's really not that bad.

The most important thing IMO, is that every year, the Pens have been legit contenders. They needed only to run into a cold goalie, a team with injuries, or get red hot themselves to go all the way. Though tons of skill is important to a good run, so is a little luck too :)

Seeing as how the coach is staying (for now) I'm thinking the system is not the problem, and wonder if Shero is being removed for having not made the team tougher? It looked much to easy for the CBJ and NYR to run both Crosby or Malkin without having to answer for it.
So in essence, you're saying the GM didn't pick up enough of the 'right type' of player to make the system work to perfection? I could buy that. In that case, you could be right in that adding a few more hard cases in lieu of finesse types could be the tipping point between a Cup and unfulfilled potential next season.

The "right type" of players aren't always available to be picked up. They seem to be very popular among GM's. The thing that bugs me is the Leafs never seem to darft a Karlson, Stamkos, Couture, Toews, Seabrook, etc. Why?

Yeah, also look at the winning ot game 7 goal vs MTL that year. On the same play, Boston touches the puck with a high stick, Lucic spears Spacek with his stick taking him out of the play and that directly led to the winning goal. I was not happy with what happened. I'm sure the players were not happy. Yet they showed sportsmanship during the handshake. These things balances out. Sometime you get the calls, sometime your opponents do.

Never mind the content, the class of your response is extremely reflective of a real Bruins fan. The team of goons.

BTW, I don't ever recall seeing a line brawl in an NHL handshake line. Please refresh my memory. We are talking NHL "code", so please be sure they are NHL incidents. (You did use the plural, I see.)

The posts in the last few days are a combination of "With all Due Respect, but" posts, excuses, deflections, and selective interpretations.

I do find the use of the "code" and the selective interpretation of it quite humourous. Let's ignore all the code the Bruins broke ON THE ICE this year, such as the code how to act during a handshake, or attacking someone when they are down in a prone position. The handshake is one of the longest traditions in sports, and yet you are not focusing on the "code" of sportsmanship that is involved in it.

As for Weiss being a pussy. You do realize the media noticed Lucic was talking trash during the shake right?. They were the ones that asked the question to Weiss. Weiss didn't really say much to the media either... he said Lucic had some words for him. He was not caught because he was "ratted" by Weiss or that Weiss was a baby. Lucic was caught redhanded by the media who saw the evidence on the video - fact is, Weiss did not really say much. Calling Weiss names... all DEFLECTIONS by Bruins fan to hide what Lucic actually did.

Bruins fans say "Montreal deserved to win game 7", BUT they then go ahead right after that and state there was a bias/conspiracy in the first period. That is not giving credit... that is making EXCUSES. They then look to Don Cherry as a factual source on the issue. Sure, Don Cherry has no agenda. Sort of how they look to Claude Julien as a factual source of how the reffing was after a game. Players like Marchand and Gallagher have reputations, and they reap what they sow -- unfortunately their actions in prior games will impact calls in future games. The entire series was EXCUSES - Julien and fans whining about referees after certain games. Boston hit a lot of posts. Boston could have easily been up 3-0 (as if the Goalie is not part of the team)

References were also made to a few despicable things that Vancouver did against them. 3 YEARS AGO!!. Classic use of a DEFLECTION that has no relevance on what the Bruins did this year. This DEFLECTION was used to show Boston as a victim and to deflect from the goon / thug tactics that Boston employ. Stuff happens in the NHL (by all teams) but referring a few things done by others, does not take away from the fact that Boston employs more goon/thug tactics than all (or almost all) teams in the NHL.

Everything said about PK Subban has been a "With all due Respect" type statement, which we know are basically always attempts to slam or give no real credit to the person

PK also got slammed for the "No Respect" comment. Well let's see: On a team level, very few gave Montreal a chance, going into the series or after Game 5 in the series. Let's also remember the "No Respect" angle is a common mantra used by coaches across all sports to motivate players for a series or a game. And it's repeated by the players several times entering, during and after a series. On a personal level, 1) He gets booed all the time, 2) He gets attacked on social media, and 3) Thornton sprayed him with water. So basically Montreal and Subban were not respected, many players have used the "no respect" angle, but Bruins fans are taking issue with Subban using it. Seems like a biased agenda does it not? Another deflection from the post game thug tactics of Lucic.

EXCUSES, DEFLECTIONS, SELECTIVE INTERPRETATIONS, and "WITH ALL DUE RESPECT..."... really pathetic.
