If Hart were to go down injured, the goalkeeping responsibilities would probably fall to Robert Green first. One high profile clanger aside, Green is a dependable keeper. In all fairness to him, I don't recall the 10 men in front of him playing particularly well in that game either. A third keeper has to be named only because the rules say so. It's unlikely he'll see any playing time in this tournament. Ruddy wasn't likely to play either. This is more a recognition of the Butland kid's talents than anything else. He must have had a great season. 19 is an incredibly young age for a professional keeper. This could easily be the first of 10 major tournaments he gets called up for if he's any good.

Yeah, I just realized he's 3rd in command. That eases things somewhat.

Still though England have a tough group stage, they wont have Rooney, Sweden is their bogey-team and if Hart has an injury they are in trouble.

They also have a Ukraine opponent who's playing at home.

Although I suppose things could be worse if you're in Group B :Eek:
