If Hart were to go down injured, the goalkeeping responsibilities would probably fall to Robert Green first. One high profile clanger aside, Green is a dependable keeper. In all fairness to him, I don't recall the 10 men in front of him playing particularly well in that game either. A third keeper has to be named only because the rules say so. It's unlikely he'll see any playing time in this tournament. Ruddy wasn't likely to play either. This is more a recognition of the Butland kid's talents than anything else. He must have had a great season. 19 is an incredibly young age for a professional keeper. This could easily be the first of 10 major tournaments he gets called up for if he's any good.
