Although Spain deserves the win, I feel that was a sketchy red card. I mean David Villa still got the shot off afterall. Maybe it's the heat, but Ukraine have shown nothing, Shevchenko hasn't gotten nothing.

I thought the spanish team is the best I have seen so far.

I thought the red card was uncalled for. The penalty kick was justified, but the ukrainien defender should at most have had a yellow card.

Now that Kathleen has revealed her German affiliation, the "chosen" team is revealed and some apparent coincidences can be explained:

Rooney's fittness is merely a rumour. The Czech's Barros is gimpy and Kohler is out for the tournament already. Cisse didn't even make the trip.

So BADKAT, don't leave us in needless supense. What's next?

Renaldo and Cafu tearing ligaments in back to back games?
Crespo being kidnapped by retired STASI agents?
Ahn Jung-Hwan falling in the shower and dislocating his hip?
Or Arjen Roben run over by a '69 Mercedes Pullman with tinted windows?

They'll drop like flies, just like Koivu, Numminen, McKee & Roloson in the NHL playoffs!!

Shevchenko is still not 100 % ready but a lot of people in Ukraine are really mad at him. Some fans are saying that if he wasn't ready he should have said so and someone else could play. There was no penalty at all, Ukrainian defender touched Villa before he was inside penalty area. Red card could have justified but no penalty.

Shevchenko had NO support, Ukraine plain stunk...speaking of stink, how about that England first half? They keep up this play they're out in the round of 16, Crouch with an uber-scuff!

England are fortunate...they left a lot to be desired the first 80 minutes. They will be playing Germany or Ecuador next round...if Ecuador tie Germany, it will be Germany vs England in the round of 16!

I saw the last 30 minutes of this game and I must say, England's game didn't really pick up until they put their offensive players on the field.... who would have thought you'd win games by scoring goals.......

Also I'll give credit to T&T. They bended quite a bit but didn't break until Crouch's goal, which really was only scored because of his height advantage......
