Well naturally I am disappointed with the result of the Serbia/Holland game. Robben was man of the match for sure and he was the only constant threat for Holland, as much I want Serbia to go through, they are all but done, they're not beating Argentina and Ivory Coast. :(

that first half an hour by the Serbs with 6 and 7 men back was appalling, how on earth did they expect to beat the talent of the Dutch like that, what is this Serie or the World Cup in the 1950's

it was probably a good thing Holland scored or else Serbia would have probably tried to soak up pressure the whole game. Soon as Koroman came on they looked better. All of Serbia's forwards today however, played like ass.

We're on tenterhooks for more than just this game's obvious import as a W.C. opener.

Obviously the victory is job 1, but we're very worried about injury. Portugal has a respectable starting lineup, but no depth. If we lose a starter, (as we already did with Andrade), we have no quality replacements, except for perhaps Simao on the wing and Ferreira at RB.

Angola was Portugal's colony until 1975, so emotion will be very very high on both sides. Added to that, the last time Portugal met Angola in 2001 there were 4 red cards against the Angolans and the game had to be stopped with 20 minutes left and Portugal leading 5-1. It was only a friendly, but very controversial, especially on the Angolan side. This is their most important game, no doubt. If Angola could manage a tie, or a win against us, they'd call this W.C. a runaway success.

The beauty of the World Cup is that you get to mingle with many different nationalities. Went to a Serbian breakfast this morning, it was non stop pork products (excellent prosciutto) and the booze was gratis. It ended on a sombre note and I was somewhat relieved. Serbs party very hard, had they won I would have been forced to go to work on Monday with a massive hangover.

Even though they are a very physical team, they couldn't match the Dutch pace. Dejan Stankovic failed to raise to the challenge...still haven't forgiven him for going Moratti.

It's been a very enjoyable World Cup so far, at 3.00pm, Monday the suffering begins.

the funniest was when that Serb player was taken down starts appealing for a yellow card a little too vigoursly and then gets one himself lol, i hate it when players do that making the card sign after they been fouled

should we start a Portugal didnt look impressive thread lol
Knock ya' self out my friend, but I liked what I saw. It's true the second half saw us set back a bit when we took our foot off the gas, and our finishing was not what it should have been, but Scolari was DA MAN today!

How gutsy was it of him to leave a mildly injured Deco off, and go with an untried lineup in the first game of a W.C.??? If we'd lost his ass would be grass right now. Instead, our 3 points are tucked safely away and Deco has another week to heal the ankle.

The scoreline is the only thing that resembles England's debacle against Paraguay. We controlled the Africans nicely, limiting them to distant shots. All they had to throw against us was long passes and foul after foul.

you were playing a team with 3 pros in Europe, one playing in top level Portuguese football and the others in 2nd level, hardly something to be proud of in a 1-0 score with a team sporting Ronaldo, Figo etc etc

I agree with scouser, Portugal's performance was hardly impressive. Though we did get to see Cristiano Ronaldo sulk once again once being subbed off, better hope he doesnt implode in these games.

Czech Republic absolutely demolished the USA. Rosicky was amazing, I am sure glad he will be on Arsenal next season!
3 beautiful goals.

The US team was great at setting off side traps.
