umm try watching England when they play against a non white team such as Sri Lanka and West indies and you will see cheating galore. They didnt need to cheat the hapless Windies but they did anyway. Very shamelessly I might ad. 'Flingtoff' as we call him is so dirty its not funny
Don't know what matches you are referring to - I didn't know you could see cricket in Toronto? You could argue that Sri Lanka are the 'cheats' right now with the suspect and previously reported bowling actions of Murali. If you had seen anything, you'll know that England right now are a very poor side. Can't hold catches or bowl straight but that's with over half the regular team sidelined, so all we can do is improve.

As far as the World Cup is concerned, I wasn't surprised to see Germany beat Argentina. My forecast was and still is Germany/Italy and England/France in the semis, with Germany/England in the final. Argentina went ahead and then tried to defend for the rest of the game - unwise of course, as England found out to their cost against Brazil 4 years ago.

I am West Indian. My dad sends me all the tapes from the Caribbean everytime and with dishnetwork you get to see most of the cricket. I see alot of cricket as a result.

As for Murali, he was CLEARED of 'flinging' (due to a deformity of his arm) as we call it back in the Caribbean(The West Indies). England has MANY 'flingers' but the non dark skinned teams rarely get reported. Pakistanis, West Indians, Indians and Sri Lankans get reported if they destroy sides like NZ, OZ and England. Its very amusing. Do you know that Andrew Flintoff throws/chucks/flings????? Please go watch him in action. It is VERY disgusting esp the fact he doesnt get called. That is why he has been dubbed Andrew Flingtoff. England also has two more throwers and OZ had Brett Lee. England are the biggest cheats in World cricket. This is almost common knowledge. Well, its a toss up between England and OZ.

as for England 4 years ago they were outclassed by Brazil. Brazil beats England any day of the week. In 2002 England could never have beaten Brasilia and this year is no different. Brazil will cut through that English defence with ease. France will beat England if they face them in the semis too. England do not have enough quality on the pitch to win matches consistently with the dead ball tactics.

I mean, do you seriously believe England was in with a shot to beat Brasilia in 2002? Please tell me you were joking. I am begging you.

nice goal by Zambrotta

but this game is over
over like rover. Ukraine can only take shots from 35 yards out
lol

How are they going to penetrate this Italian defence. Common knowledge: Try not to concede to the Italians early. If you do its 'night nights' most of the time. USA got lucky with that own goal
:D

ah geez looks like the Azzuri are in complete control, too bad that Argentina-Germany match didnt turn into Canada-Soviet Union 1987, would have been nice to have both sides thrown out of the WC after a good ole punch up lol

and can we please stop with the cricket talk :D

They were so outclassed they were actually leading!

England plays better against better teams. Fact. That's why they've beaten Argentina recently. Brazil is not the team it was, or hasn't been so far. :D

Wow ... Ukraine can actually play and surprisingly pretty good. But no luck at all :( So many chances. They could have scored three times and instead Italy got their 2 and 3 goals. Italy is lucky again. Go Deutschland !!!

statistically...

Luca Toni is one of the greatest goal scorers in Serie A history....he was scorless in 4 games,...it only goes that he should start scoring multiple times in games going forward....its the law of averages.

Can Gigi Buffon walk in Dino Zoff's footsteps?

Walter Zenga (90) thought he could, but they used his bath water as chicken stock.

Angelo Peruzzi (94) made a valiant effort, but he saved one penalty kick too few.

Gigi Buffon could be unemployed in a few weeks?!?

And Portugal will defeat England.

Buffon deserves a World Cup, the man has been the most consistant goalie of his generation, he's definitely an intimidating prescence at net. What bothers me is how some people don't give him credit because of the Azzuri's defense. Well christ, apparently they haven't seen the shots he has saved to actually keep the Azzuri in the match.

Congrats to the Italians, very very good match today.

I wouldnt mind seeing France win either, but I doubt they will...though Makelele and Vieira are capable of shutting players down on their best day...plus France likes to deploy a 4-5-1, will be interesting

anyone else get the feeling that if Portugal and England switched managers, the English would win 3-0 with Scolari
no, because England doesnt have the skill level or talent to effect such a scoreline. Portugal has the talent. In fact man for man Portugal's players have the talent in one of their legs that the English players have in their entire body. Yes a great coach can make a difference but he needs the personnel in the final analysis. Scholari turned down England's job offer because he saw the task at hand. A bunch of no talent men. :D

England can only play the long and dead ball game. Whenever they try anything else they look like rank amateurs.

In he past England had their Big Ron, their Keegans, their Venables etc etc and they still were an overrated bunch of sacks. I have only seen two or three truly skillful men put on an English shirt since 1986. Gascoigne, Barnes and Waddle. Maybe Hoddle too. The rest are a bunch of deadball specialists and workhorses. Most times workhorses are good but skill with a little discipline can overcome workhorses 75% of the time.

Lineker is the epitome of an English forward. A goat rat who couldn't create an opening for himself (like say a Pele, a Diego or a younger Ronaldo) if his life depended on it. Rooney and Defoe are the forwards who are the ones to buck that trend
