So you bought in May and went away and made 36.93%, anyone that bought stock after March of this year made at least that much in gains. I bought stocks but did not go away in May, I made over 150%.

Congrats on the return. It's pretty easy to make money with the markets these days just by sticking with the blue chips (banks, big tech, medical). I'm also not referring to the bullshit a few weeks back with Gamestop and the like. That was an anomaly and those nerds really fucked up the market and indexes for a brief period. I had lost about 10 grand because of the chaos they created but have since recovered largely due to the strength of my blue chips.

Pretty much, yup.
Whenever I invested long-term in mostly blue chips I always made good money.
And whenever I started speculating on penny stocks or other volatile stocks I mostly lost.
So I stopped doing the latter and just stick with blue chips now.
P.S. I think oil has 1 or 2 more good runs in its tank before the world switches to EV's

On a side note...I doubled my position in span of 3 weeks putting all my eggs in the Marijuana basket...
bought 5k of OGI at @2.60 and penny stock ZENA 50k for $0.06 ...OGI doubled yesterday and ZENA tripled yesterday...will be selling depending on how the market turns out today...seems like i will be up another 20%
Nice mate - congrats - just getting into this stock stuff myself, didn't put numbers like you down ($1000 only), bought some AMC (60%) and BB (40%) just to see what happens - currently down on AMC and up on BB but do enjoy learning all this and reading upon the stocks. Couldn't find ZENA on WealthSimple - what do you Gents use as your app? I am using WealthSimple.

always do y our due diligence on a stock...i lost a potential big money on AMD back when it was at $40s...now it's around $87...in fact the stock was around $2 7 years ago...I just don't do much of long holds...ZENA doesn't look good on the surface simply because this stock was $6 at one point...dropped all the way to $0.05 cents...got into a lot of management problems but I always look at the assets they still hold...400k sq.ft of grow op facility doesn't go poof in one day...something is brewing so I pull the trigger and put some money on it...now they will open $0.18...I like how volatile the Marijuana sector is...but it's not for the faint of heart....if you're not ready to lose some...stay away...lol...
I exited APHA when it was $10...I was looking into OGI and them paying off 50M debt got me in...I stayed away from HEXO and ACB simply because of the splits they did...
Exactly. Whenever I dabbled in equities I wasn't entirely sure about (cannabis, energy) I did poorly. Society will always need financial institutions, soap, toothpaste and cellphones. That's where my money is going.
