But your suggestion that they simply send in assassination teams to wipe out a militia of 30k gunmen in prepared defensive positions in a hostile environment is silly.
Instead of bombing Berlin and Hamburg, maybe the Allies should have sent in an assassination team to kill the entire German Army during WW2?
Bear in mind that Gaza has the same population as Vancouver and you get to see individual neighbourhoods that are war zones presented in the media. I am guessing that most of Gaza is intact.
Imagine you're an IDF colonel. There's a Hamas machine gun bunker in a school down the street. You have a 2 choices. You can send your battalion to attack it head-on World War One style and get half of them killed. Or you can blow that bunker apart with a tank or an air strike from long range and take no casualties at all. What do you do?
