Those were probably severe cases of mental illness, and in that case I agree with the courts that they shouldnt have access to guns.
But the courts are not going to deny people just because they're a little depressed, or have anxiety.

If all they have is a little anxiety or depression they wouldn't fail the psych eval.
Psych evals take into consideration context and severity.
However if one is severely depressed and suicidal they'd be rightfully flagged.

It's not being denied, it's the most basic, low effort requirement that is still somehow too much for people playing white knight for another group of people they don't actually care about.
