It's difficult to enter many countries illegally. Canada, for instance; unless the law has been changed, it is perfectly legal to cross the border anywhere, at any time, by any means, so long as you report your presence to Border Services at your earliest opportunity. I have a friend who has an airstrip on his farm, and often gets friends visiting from the states. They fly in to his field, phone Canadian Border Services and declare their presence, and answer a few standard questions. If Border Services wants any more checks the'll probably just tell them to sit tight until they get there. Don't know if that's ever happened. They may also pre-clear.
