If some corruption was uncovered in Biden's administration, are you saying it gives the Trump administration carte blanche to be as corrupt as they are currently? Are you asserting Biden’s government was totally corruption free?

all governments are corruptIf some corruption was uncovered in Biden's administration, are you saying it gives the Trump administration carte blanche to be as corrupt as they are currently?
I believe John Larue answered your question succinctly. The big Marxist players the Soviet Union and China expressed their inspiration was Karl Marx and of course they failed in their pursuit.Fair enough. I was challenging Earp's assertion that Marxism has been shown to not work.

Sorry, sometimes I don't make the distinction between Marx and Marxism.
Marx had important things to say. Marxism in practice has not really worked in practice.
We'll see.I always supported tariffs under Republican and Democratic administration alike. The U.S. has probably helped perpetuate a very harmful long-term path for the German and Chinese economies.
I don't know if I consider myself an expert in economics. I read a lot of impartial economists. My understanding of economics appears to be greater than most members. You can usually tell when someone is repeating something they just heard or whether they truly have a lot of knowledge.
You're obviously fishing around for some way to put me down without the need to have command of the subject.
PS- Don't sweat a constitutional amendment for a third-term. It's solely for entertainment.
No. The apes and monkeys are pure of mind and spirit.I am asserting that every single government since the first ape walked upright has had some form of corruption.
To assert that Biden’s government had no corruption is total absurdity.
I agree whataboutism is no ones friend.
So, are you asserting that Biden’s government was 100% corruption free?
Which suggests that the "3rd term" initiative might be meant seriously, albeit hopelessly incompetent and maladroit. Just like all else Trump's buddies have been doing for the past 3 weeks.Exactly.
Spare us the lecture on Politics 101. Thanks.I believe John Larue answered your question succinctly. The big Marxist players the Soviet Union and China expressed their inspiration was Karl Marx and of course they failed in their pursuit.
I correctly thought you were shooting for some type of acknowledgement that Marxism doesn't really purely exist. Such a pity that your set-up had such little payback.
The problem is that Marx was more of a political theorist and philosopher than an economist. His writings are more ideals than practical economics. As John noted, Marxist governments become beasts that feed on their own people. That is the inevitable and unfortunate result of aggressive government control over the economy. If you have a better understanding of Marxism and how it could work in practice, please share it.
I'm not sure if you have really been following the politics of the tariff discussion.Point me to the speech where Trump talks about how the tariffs will be used for targeted protection of local industry.
Would be happy to see it.
Participate constructively or stay out of the discussion.Spare us the lecture on Politics 101. Thanks.
Your musings are at the level of "Guy in the corner at the pub after 4 beers".
How long realistically would it take to rebuild the US steel industry or auto industry - while knowing all along that it will never again be internationally competitive with the Pacific Rim auto industries?I'm not sure if you have really been following the politics of the tariff discussion.
So let's look at a recent Trump quote. He's been very clear on the matter.
“We are going to look at pharmaceuticals, drugs, we are going to look at chips, semiconductors and we are going to look at steel and some other industries and you are going to see things happening,” Trump told House Republicans. “The only way to get out of this is to build your plant — if you want to stop paying taxes or tariffs, build here in America.”
I think I memorized how the "Why didn't Marxism work out in the real world?" discussion went - by rote - around 1982. (Yes, I'm that old!).Participate constructively or stay out of the discussion.
shack was conversing with me.
I don't think the end game is to prop up any one industry. Rather the days of China, Germany, etc. running up enormous trade deficits and putting pressure on the global economy are coming to a head. How long realistically would it take to rebuild the US steel industry or auto industry - while knowing all along that it will never again be internationally competitive with the Pacific Rim auto industries?
How deeply would you have to ass-fuck your own people with high, tariff-sustained prices to re build that industry?
And that same, carefully-rebuilt industry would immediately collapse again, as soon as the tariffs were lowered.
The West is post-industrial and service- oriented. I don't 100% like it either. But you won't change that reality by doing dumb shit like tariffs.
Indeed. I try to remember that when I drop 400 bucks for an hour of entertainment. Not everyone can.Living paycheck to paycheck is becoming more common.
no ... you don't got itSo Right wing, alt-right, and Nazism are all the same. Got it.
Was he wrong here? Because if he is, he should be sued into poverty....Byron Donalds, huh?
Wow!
How the fuck did you know what i said 20 years ago?In Canada only 20 years ago one could proudly state " I have middle of the road common sense views , with a modest bias to support the social safety net and i am a proud liberal'
trump's gov't is 10 days oldSo you are agreeing that when people assert that trump's gov't is corrupt, they are correct.
