It is a strawman to argue that Russia is going to invade Europe. So it's the best way or no way?
Ukraine isn't going to win, they could have won but they have not been getting the support needed and that we could have given them. From early on I've been disappointed at the level of support, drips and drabs.
They don't have the money... but guess who does.
Public opinion? The people are retarded.
No aid is enough aid? Sure if you are a Neville Chamberlain.
Also what we do in Ukraine will have a big impact on how West Taiwan sees an invasion of Taiwan. We can pay now, or we can pay even more later.
BTW I wasn't doing a strawman argument. I was purposely misunderstanding what you posted for humous intent to mock your position. There is a difference. Don't be a Hans Frankfooter.
If they couldn't invade Ukraine which per you has been getting drips and drabs, which only cost 100s of billions, how can they invade Europe?.
Russia was reported to have lost all its weapons quite early and are apparently using 1950s tanks, Iranian drones and NK soldiers.
Even then Ukraine is not successful.
So may be Ukraine is bad at war and the aid is not really drips and drabs, but a total waste of money.
Who knows.
The point is all of these arguments - Neville Chamberlain, Russia is going to invade Europe etc have been used for 3 years.
100s of billions have been given.
No real results.
But we cannot keep sending our tax payer money to a foreign nation.
We've run out especially with unemployment, job loss, inflation, people not being able to make ends meet here.
So a diplomatic solution which was always how this was going to end anyway, needs to be pursued.
Except now, it is disadvantageous for Ukraine.
Well it is what it is.
