It's not clear if a small amount of North Korean soldiers really could have much impact on the war. It would appear they're being added to provide impetus for offensive attacks. Don't underestimate the symbolism of North Korea's participation at least from the Russian perspective.How the hell does this war favour Russia? They had to ask NK for help because they are running out of solders.
This is one thing I hope Trump doesn't change.
If you think the Ukraine is making significant and sustainable progress, I would agree with you. However, Russia only really needs to hold on to territory and grind out the war. Historically, this has been the Russian military's fallback strategy.
There is a problem defining Ukrainian victory as the country regaining control of its pre-2014 borders. A Ukrainian victory is actually defined by Russia unilaterally discontinuing to fight. I don't think the Ukraine can win the war unless one holds out hope that the Putin regime would collapse shortly. I've been hearing of a pending collapse for over two years now.
