Sure.

Yeah right.

As if.

Too funny:

".... cyclists riding in the bike lane yell angrily at me to get off the sidewalk."

Thanks for this morning's made-up, make-believe, fairy-tale post.

Happy tricycling!
Epic tale too confounding to be believed. I know

Having cars and cyclists share the same road is asinine to begin with.
Precisely, which is the purpose of bike lanes. To segregate so that they don't have to share the same road.

The Singaporians are way ahead of us. They make pedestrians and cyclists share the same sidewalk.
This should save 5-10 lives every year if Toronto adopted the same

EDIT: @roddermac beat me to it

How many streets in Toronto look like this. With a huge sidewalk and a huge section for trees and grass to boot.
They did this exact thing for Queens Quay. Sidewalk, bike lane, car lanes, and a lane for TTC.

The city in effect are doing just this. The bike lanes are right next to the sidewalk. See Richmond. See Adelaide.

Some do, some dont.
But you dont have to put bike lanes on every sidewalk

Thats great, but there's also lots of bike lanes that offer no protection from cars.
And those are the ones which will cause more injuries and deaths in the future

If cyclists obeyed the rules of the road there would be fewer injuries and deaths, however, this will never happen because 90% of them pay no attention to them.

While driving today I see a bike, a food delivery courier actually, stopped smack dab in the middle of the curb lane.
Any car looking to make a right turn would need to wait for the bike to clear way.
Not an uncommon sight actually. Bikes will take up the whole lane when there aren't any bike lanes so cars won't be able to pass them.

The bike lanes are going to DIE!!!!!

from the article:

" That’s why, in the next few days, our government will unveil our plan to work with our municipal partners around the province to ensure bike lanes are introduced in a way that reflects the need of the entire community"

I'm afraid that the word "introduced" addresses future and new bike lanes

it might mean that the ones that are already build, are here to stay

I hope not!

Years ago, I knew a bicycle courier who I met while walking his bike on Adelaide and Yonge. Said hi to him and asked why he was walking his bike on the sidewalk on Adelaide and he said, it is a $300 fine to ride on the sidewalk. If that is true, I wonder how many of them know that. I don't think too many, or probably they don't give a crap and there is probably no enforcement of the law.
