I agree with all that. I would also add that the stories they tell often come from their vast personal experience in the game. For example, during last night's game they were talking about how tall the Mets starting pitcher is(6'7") and started to reminisce about other tall, overpowering pitchers. They brought up the name J.R. Richard who was a 6'8" powerhose for the 1970's Houston Astros. Buck said he never played with Richard in the MLB, but caught him in the 1971 AAA all star game. I know that's trivial, but some sports fans live for stuff like that.
