Kamala Harris - is she fit to be President?

I think the general American public has the right to see her questioned considering no primary.
That is the point. This especially since Kamala seems to be trying to repackage herself from her 2020 campaign.

I love the spoofing of Pelosi's famous Obamacare quote. You have to elect Kamala to see what her positions are. ;)

But, I agree, she would definitely get airtime on any channel she wants to appear on. What I think you miss is this: She probably doesn't have to go on Fox, while Trump NEEDS to go on every channel. Look at it this way: Harris is probably not going to sway those already in the MAGA cult that Fox has helped cultivate. It doesn't matter what she says, or her vision for America. Nothing she says (or, apparently anything Trump does) will change their minds. In many ways, it is wasted effort.
This is something I feel people miss.
Candidates do interviews as messaging, not as public service.
The press can (and should!) push for them, that's their job.
But the candidates are going to - quite rightly - push back on how and where they want to do them.

There isn't some neutral, platonic ideal of reasoned journalistic discourse at play here.

That's why he needs to go on CNN and appear at things like the NABJ.
Trump went to the NABJ to get footage of him standing up to nasty, mean, liberal, Black women.

You might not be happy with the way the MSM is covering her or Trump, but that doesn't mean they are biased.
They are biased.
It's just a mistake to think those biases are just simple ideology.

Harris is a bigger story now, because she's different. She has a different energy than Trump or Biden, and it's being reflected in the polls and energy. And, on the other hand, Trump is not campaigning as much, and when he makes appearances, he fucks the dog....like what happened at Arlington.
Trump will find a narrative the press can back soon enough, though.

The point is to see her in action. Why so afraid of that?
No one believes that's what you want, Butler.

And it certainly isn't what the GOP wants.

And it isn't what the press corps wants.

Butler, you really believe Trump can compete with this woman on a debate stage??

As she is fighting the rules and wants binders available I'm curious why? And also why she can't sit for a one on one extended interview, or a good old fashioned press conference.

Is it her or the DNC election team that fears putting her out there.

What are you basing this on?
What binders?

The hot mic thing is clearly her trolling Trump, hoping he would override his own handlers and turn the mics back on because she thinks him interrupting and being an asshole will work to her advantage. They didn't get the rule change, but may have gotten under his skin.

I don't know what this "binders" thing is you are talking about.

Dana Bash asked Kamala if she would have any Republicans in her Cabinet. She said yes, but didn't know who as of yet. Perhaps she has "binders full of men." ;)

There is back and forth on rules including being able to bring notes. Kamala wants the crutch.

I got that. The image of "binders" on the debate podiums didn't jive.

Anyway, my comment "binders full of men" harks back to 2012 when Romney was roasted for saying he had "binders full of women" for posts in his Administration. The fact that Romney was roasted for this tells you everything you need to know about media criticism of Republicans. That was how we organized job candidates for review.

Romney is actually a really bright guy. Agree he was a bit inartful in his phrasing but what he said made sense and attested to his preparation.
I think he and McCain would have both been good presidents. They were hurt by having to swallow the extreme crap from their right wings.
