This is very interesting… Trump Spoke to Amazon Jeff Bezos for the First Time, who owns The Washington Post Immediately After, WAPO published a Scathing Story about Kamala Harris’ Horrendous Communistic ‘Price Control’ Plan He then says he believes the New York Times did or is about to publish something similar..
The media and big money elite were always going to side with Trump.

I was watching the Trump Hillary debates and wow, Trump was impressive back then and outperformed Hillary. You can see how he's lost a step 9 years later regarding his speech and how he articulates himself today. 9 years older has definitely affected him. This is not to mock Trump but it's evident the man has deteriorated.

His deterioration is obvious, but you are far too generous to him in those debates in 2016.
I guess if you take the debates to mean "generate social media clips" then sure, he did ok, I guess.

MAGAs hate women...Stone Cold Steve Austin buys tampons for his wife.

So what, I'd like to see one of these FoxNews cream puffs tell Stone Cold he's not a real man.

LOL, he wasn't brilliant but he was quick with the one-liners and entertaining enough to overpower a woman who wasn't liked. Although she still did win the popular vote.

I'll say this: Hillary wasn't well liked. But, Trump had a lot of outside help, and I'm not talking about the Russians.

Look at all the supposed leaks coming from supposed FBI agents in September and October of that year. Then you have James Comey break protocols to announce they're re-opening the Clinton email server case just weeks before the election....and come out and say it was nothing just after early voting happened. These two things sandbagged her in a way that Trump never experience.

AND....looking at Russia....major news outlets covered the hacked DNC server information and ran stories from Wikileaks. Happening right now, the major media outlets are refusing to run stories on Trump from the stolen data allegedly from Iran. Would that be another nail in Trump's coffin? Hard to say.

All very true, plus Trump was really an unknown. Even myself, I wasn't that worried about him at the time. I knew he was a dumbass but I found him entertaining and thought it would be funny to watch. The US like a reality TV show but instead he proved how dangerous he could be.

He appealed to his fans.
But he lost every debate both ways.

If it was about policy and plans and understanding the job, he lost horribly.
If you don't believe debates are really about that (like me), then on the "but what did people think" side, he lost as well. His numbers went down and hers went up after every debate.

I completely agree with your point that he has deteriorated significantly.

The Comey thing was big, and it also shows how much the "We all know Trump can't win" belief fucked people.
Comey was positioning himself in context to her winning, he didn't think what he did would tip the scale (or so seriously contribute to it tipping).
Lots of people were making that calculation, I think.

The difference in handling the leaks is striking, but I think something that is under-rated here is the Wikileaks factor.

The news outlets could point to Wikileaks and say the emails were "already out there". They could skirt the ethics by saying they didn't release that material.
That doesn't seem to be the case with the Trump/Stone leaks here - those were sent to the news orgs themselves.
Now, the fact that this fig leaf conveniently lets them not damage Trump shouldn't be ignored, but they do have that fig leaf.

Let's face it, I doubt the majority of people thought he'd win. Hell, he didn't even think he'd win. That is one reason they had virtually no transition plan in place and had to scramble for January. It also explains why so many idiots were put in key positions...

#BREAKING: RFK Jr. has announced he will “address the nation live” on Friday from Phoenix, AZ about his “path forward.” The most interesting part? President Trump will ALSO be having an event in Phoenix on Friday This comes just one day after RFK Jr.’s running mate said they are considering dropping out and endorsing president Trump. This would be EPIC!

The one good thing was he put a few folks who acted as guard rails because he didn't know much and relied on others within politics for recommendations. This time around he will be surrounded with yes men and some more cunning and intelligent than Donny to beat any existing guard rails in place.
