Try it once. Suatee those onions reaaally slow and maybe add a tiny dash of maple syrup and some Cajun spice. I think I feel like making one now. LOL.Same. Never thought of sautéed onions.

I'm saying when you specifically source your meat from a Halal butcher, you are specifically saying "we support this group but not that group". You serve meat that has no religious affiliation, your not showing support for one religious group over another. All restaurants cater to a certain type of person and group/demographic.
Are you saying vegetarian Sikh restaurants should be serving gefilte fish?
Why do you always reply in this thread with such snark? We can't just disagree without the snarky remarks? As far as I know I haven't really talked to you on these forums before and I haven't posted anything in this thread with snark or in bad faith.Then... we will all starve to DEATH!
Or... go. next door to ask for Bacon Cheeseburger communion from a Burger's Priest!

So to be clear you are mocking me because I am a bigot? A bigot defined by you because I don't have the same viewpoint as you on not wanting to eat Halal foods.Because mocking and parody is nicer than calling someone a bigot. I didn't mean it to be snarky.
To answer your original question as to what happens when a restaurant changes their food supplier, my answer is if you don't like it... go elsewhere.
When a restaurant that I used to like made Sysco Foods their primary supplier instead of sticking with their original menu that was prepared from scratch, I jsut stopped going.
Maple Lodge Farms sells both Halal and "normal" chicken. They also sell organic, air chilled, Prime and various other grades and white label brands. As do most commercial and restaurant food supply companies. Going Halal is not much different than taking a company into ISO certification and paying for the certification.I'm saying when you specifically source your meat from a Halal butcher, you are specifically saying "we support this group but not that group". Well said ebony booty lover. He thinks because has no issues with halal meat, nobody else on the planet should.
You should be more concerned about the fact that KFC is grossly unethical in so many ways as opposed to the serving of halal chicken which is still the same chickens that they kept in inhumane conditions. And they haven't informed customers that this is what they are serving. Just appalling behavior on behalf of Yum Brands!, the parent company.
Cry me a river. So it seems now that both Mary Brown's and Popeye's are Halal certified and been so for years. This is disappointing to say the least. I will no longer be eating at any of these establishments.

As a senior that has trouble chewing tough meat including some chicken, I started buying Halal skinless chicken breasts and could not believe how much tender they were and that is the only chicken I buy. Sadly, the only grocery store in my Leaside area that sells it is Metro. I am Canadian born of Ukrainian decent so there is no religion or politics in my choosing Halal. The cost is similar and it the best tasting and most tender chicken whether I grill or bake it. Try it, you will like it.It's completely different, there no religious affiliation. Stop try to compare apples to oranges.
No thanks. Again, zero interest in eating anything with religious attachment to it.As a senior that has trouble chewing tough meat including some chicken, I started buying Halal skinless chicken breasts and could not believe how much tender they were and that is the only chicken I buy. I'm ok with public restaurants offering a Halal option in order to broaden their market base. What I am not ok with is making that the only option available to everyone. Now that being said I guess that could pose a problem since Halal meat has to be handled differently. For instance they cannot use the same fryers or ovens etc.No restaurant caters to any religious sector otherwise they'd be out of business real fast. If Im an atheist & owned a restaurant, if serving Halal meats brought in more business then I'd do it because I'm making more money for me and my business. I couldn't & wouldn't give a damn about religion because my objective is to get more people to buy food at my restaurant and if offering a food option such as Halal meats does that then I'd do it.

This is not political its about respecting the customer. For instance if I go into a Middle Eastern restaurant to order a shawarma it is specifically made clear to me (via a sign or on their menu board) that the meat is Halal. All I'm asking is that the KFC's and Popeye's restaurants do the same.Right-wingers have reached the point where they don't think a private businesses have the right to operate as they please. If they serve halal or kosher chicken, it's to maximize their profits, not for any other reason.
I could not tell the difference between halal and non-halal chicken and neither could you.
Don't be so fucking stupid.

Do you think the chicken about to be slaughtered cares about the prayerKFC is not kosher due to the mixing of meat with milk and will never be kosher. . Halal requires a prayer to be done before each slaughter while a general blessing must be done once for the meat to be Kosher. The economics of religion should not be confused with the religion of economics for the greater peculiarity.
