Statistics say otherwise and in situations like that where I’m dependent on someone or where we’re dependent on one another I don’t trust anyone in that situation, man or women.
I say again at least a bear will attack on instinct and finish the job. You put a lot of people in that situation where someone has to depend on them and it could be a whole lot worse then what a bear will ever do
Cishet (straight) men are so funny to me. They see woman choose a bear over them and go "women be crazy". Not an ounce of self-reflection, self-awareness or empathy.
The bar is SOOO low and women are clearly saying men still can't meet it. If you ask most women, they either have their own horror stories with men or know someone who has one. So there is a reason for this. But these men literally don't give a sh*t and go on the defensive.
TO THE OFFENDED MEN: Maybe these women aren't talking about you man. Stop projecting. There are plenty of bad men out there who have done heinous things and even ONE bad experience is enough to ruin the woman's life. So maybe show a bit of compassion and just listen instead of talking over them. HOLY.

I agree with your entire post except that it's not anywhere near 50% odds that a man in the woods is a rapist.
The thought of raping a woman has never and will never enter the minds of the overwhelming majority of men in their entire lives. The default setting for most men is to provide assistance to women.

It is also objectively true that the majority of men have not sexually assaulted or raped anyone. So the benefit of the doubt has to always, go to the man, until proven guilty or atleast until a pattern of accusation is established. Otherwise you are just arguing that every man by default is either a rapist or likely to be a rapist. Now that is bullshit that most men rightfully oppose. This does not mean women should not take precautions around men. But, there has to at the very least be a measure of cautious optimism. Not default fear and pessimism.

It's not crazy because as a man, I would be very skeptical coming across another man in the woods too. It's a fact of life that other humans can be very dangerous.
I don't know him and I'm not going to trust him. I'm going to keep my eyes and guard on him until we're back to civilization.
At the same time, I know that the bear is a killer, not because it's evil, but because it requires meat for survival. I'm nothing more than another meal to it.
All that this seems to illustrate is that behind the "strong and independent" facade, women are absolutely terrified of men and recognize the disparity between the sexes [denied under ordinary circumstances] on a number of scales.
There's no need to think about it because it's nonsense. To think someone would rather face a Grizzly over another human is silly. Most men are not evil-looking to hurt women. Yes, there are nasty bad ones just like there are nasty females but the majority of folks are not out to hurt others.
I'm obviously being hyperbolic but that is a strong sentiment. Maybe what men should focus more on is why they think this instead of going on the defense. Like I said earlier, the lack of compassion and self-awareness among a lot of these men is mind-boggling. I even explained why women feel this.
And if you want to both sides this, I also sh*t on people who deny men's genuine struggles. And I have actually listened to incels/misogynists who say "Most women are trash" and we know they are unreasonable and actually ridiculous.
There's nothing for men to "focus on". That statement makes no sense.
Good men, who are the overwhelming majority, treat everyone as human beings.
Men are not a monolith or collective that need to be held to account (or in contempt) for the actions of a small minority of bad apples.
Let's "focus on" the fact that some men are POS rapists? We already know that's a fact of life. What is that going to do for anyone? Are we expected to wave a magic wand after "focusing" so much and it'll make some sort of change?
We send men like that to prison while the same bleeding heart women that choose bears want punishment to be less severe for criminals on the whole.

Folks in this thread are making a mistake concentrating on whether a human would beat or rape the woman. The more important question is which bear is the meanest.
The order is:
1. Polar bear = very mean.
2. Grizzly bear = also quite mean.
3. Other bears = less mean.

Invalidating the women's emotions, experiences and feelings and not listening. That's the whole point. I don't know how many times I have to say this. Always invalidating ands shifting blame. A lot of men are also sooo clueless of how their behavior affects others. I could right essays about how clueless men are and this is as a man who has known a lot of men of different backgrounds.
