Here's a test... drop these women who picked the bears for a week in the forest....then see their reaction when they see a man...we'll find out who's lying or not... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Well…if a woman unexpectedly encounters a man in the woods he is probably out there for a reason: ie. hiking, camping, hunting, etc. Moreover, in this example, he has chosen to go out on his own and does not appear to be looking for company. He does not sound like a sexual predator stalking the community for a victim; he sounds more like a guy who would just like to be out on his own for awhile.

Also…most physical and sexual assaults are committed by someone known to the victim: date rape, domestic assault, etc. Attacks by the stereotypical creepy guy in the park attacking unsuspecting victims are statistically infrequent.

Anyway…

The bear, on the other hand, is probably not going to seek out a fight with a human unless it feels threatened or startled, or if it’s protecting its cubs. The chances of being attacked by a bear in Ontario are low but are known to occur and when they do they can be fatal.

.
From the article above:
“Bear attacks are a serious concern in Canada, with the majority of incidents occurring in Western Canada. The Canadian Rockies, in particular, are a high-risk area for bear attacks due to the large population of both grizzly and black bears. Ontario also experiences bear attacks, with an average of 10 incidents per year reported to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.”

I think the chances of being attacked by a bear are probably higher than running into a serial killer out in the woods (unless he is out there burying a body of a recent victim…but that doesn’t seem very likely either).

So…I guess I agree with the other guys who view the bear as the bigger threat but the fact that many women have a different point of view doesn’t bother or upset me. I don’t take it personally; I don’t go out in the woods that much anyway….plus…as Rob Ford once said:

So you must have seen it by now.

Question posed is - if alone in the woods, would you rather encounter a bear or a man?

Most women, women everywhere are saying the bear. Many men are upset about this.

Thoughts?

If your wife/daughters/sister/mother as alone in the woods, would you rather encounter a bear or man?

Now for context, we don’t know anything about the man or bear. This is just you are alone and you see “blank”. Which “blank” would you rather encounter.
The whole thing is just social media poison designed to turn women against men and men against women.
Anyone with an ounce of sense is going to say they'd rather encounter the man than the bear. The reason this debate is a thing isn't because it makes sense, but because it's another hyperbolic way to say "man bad".

I don't give a fuck about these surveys. A man with a gun doesn't necessarily mean he's capable of killing the bear...more than likely he'll get his brain eaten if he shoots the bear.

Bears are such goofy fucks. That doesn't mean they are not to be obeyed - the cashier knows his role.

Some people get wildly bent out of shape over these things.

Ya, I see that on Reddit. Supposedly most women choose the bear over the man. Ignoring the man-bears out there, it sounds like most men are getting their panties in a twist over it. It's social media, please.
Watching this go viral has been depressing.
But yeah, par for the course on social media.

Guys there is nothing that says that the man or the bear are hostile. Doesn’t say they are not either or can’t be but doesn’t say they are.

I find it interesting some of you are questioning/upset/angry of why women automatically think men are hostile but are at the same type automatically assuming the bear is hostile.

That is not the question, or the scenario posted. It could be, just like the man could be hostile or the bear could be like most and just take off at a loud noise.

Nothing says that the man or bear are dangerous or that they are not. Just what would you prefer to encounter. You bring your own bias and experiences to the question.
This is the part I think a lot of guys seemed unable to process.

Hey, just for clarity, lets make this hypothetical slightly more specific.

So, would you rather be in the woods with a black bear or a black man?

Shouldn't be different right?
I think most women would still be picking bear.

It’s easy to take the non serious response if given that choice on social media. If I were given a choice between Kathy griffin and a bear to avoid in the woods, I’d pick Kathy griffin , even though the bear would surely kill me
I agree. If a bear shows up, I'm sure I can outrun Kathy Griffin.

In my youth I worked for the Lands & Forest north of Lake Superior. Typically bears are scared of humans and stay clear of them. When they have more interaction with people, they lose their fear. The number of morons that actually encouraged a bear to eat from their hand seemed endless. Of course one scratch on the human, the bear had to be put down.

While I do see both sides and can understand why it would be stupid to pick the bear because it’s a man eater and a wild animal…..

I would pick the bear because at least it would act on instinct and only attack me to kill me and finish me off. A man may violate me and keep me alive just so he can do it all over again, HOWEVER he could me a sane individual and all could go well.

But even If it was a women I would still pick the bear since I don’t trust people especially in situations like that. I would pick an island with only animals over an island with humans any day
