I predict that I'll watch the playoffs until the Leafs get knocked out.

And after that, I'll root against any remaining Canadian teams.

So
You’re not watching after round 1, got it
I'm hoping otherwise, but it would be unrealistic to say that that is not a possibility.

Wow!!! You say Toronto beats Boston in Game 7 in Boston. And, you say Edmonton sweeps LA. Very bold statements.

According to Elliot Freidman the NHL wanted to start the playoffs on Monday, but the American networks that carry hockey objected. They wanted games this weekend. Vancouver and Nashville were supposed to start on Tuesday, but they were not happy with that much of a break.

It's only a bold statement from those who think Boston in 4. Did Boston sweep in any of their last 3 series?
All of those series went 7 games and the divide between the 2 teams was wider then.
32% of all Bruins games went into OT. Leafs beat TB last season by winning all 3 OT games.
Also, Matthews is not playing with Marner. That alone should make them a notch better than previous iterations.

I see the Leafs losing but can't imagine them being swept.

Boston in 6 over Toronto (This version of the Leafs are more built for the physicality of playoff hockey but their inconsistent play on the blueline and in net will ultimately cost them the series)
NY Rangers in 5 over Washington (Caps have no business being in the playoffs but I'll predict Ovie spins some magic in one game)
Carolina in 4 over NY Islanders (Islanders just don't match up well at all with Carolina and will struggle to generate any form of offensive attack)
Florida in 6 over Tampa Bay (Florida just has way too much depth at all positions even though TB has the edge in net)
Dallas in 7 over Vegas (This could go either way. Vegas finally healthy and they know how to play playoff hockey)
Winnipeg in 6 over Colorado (Like the Leafs the Avs struggled down the stretch. Jets have a significant edge in net)
Vancouver in 6 over Nashville (Nashville is always competitive and will give the Canucks fits at times. Both teams have goaltenders that could steal games)
L.A. in 7 over Edmonton (L.A. seems to do well historically vs McJesus & Co. Kings had the 2nd best PK during the regular season and were one of least penalized teams as well)

Indeed bold but sometimes you have a hunch. Boston blew a 3-1 series lead last year to Florida and i can see something like this happen again. Yes Boston is better in goal and on defence but if the Leafs top guns show up this time. Look out. I also thought Boston would take it all last year and look at what happened. There are chinks in their armour.Edmonton has a high powered offence. I can't see them them losing a game to L,A. Remember they went on a 16 game winning streak during the regular season.

I'm a huge Leaf fan, but I predict Boston will win in 6. Not really interested in any of the other series, as I'm just a Leaf fan!!

I hope you're right(Leafs always have been my favourite team).
The pervious playoff series between Toronto and Boston are irrelevant because they were too long ago. In the last 2 regular seasons the Leafs are 1-7 against Boston. That means more than the previous playoff series.

Hope you're right. You have a point about the Leafs big guns producing, but I'm looking for big performances from Domi, Bertuzzi, and Robertson(if they play him). If those guys play well the Bruins won't be able to just focus on the big guys. More ice will open up for them.

Didn't we already establish that regular season is not the playoffs.
I'm not saying Leafs will win the series. I'm not saying they will lose either.
I'm predicting a 7 game series cause that's what these teams do.
Like Florida did last year in round 1 took game 7 to OT and you know in OT one shot can win it.
Florida was one shot away from being a failure.

This season there appears to be no clear cut favorite to win the cup. Aside from picking higher ranked teams and hunches, my feeling is it will go down to what ever team has a hot goalie, stays healthy, or has overtime success/luck.

Should be fun to watch, especially the first round with so many games.
