Though often cited as "thou shalt not kill", the better translation is "thou shalt not murder". As a result, justified killing is not prohibited by the Bible. However, there isn't any support in the Bible for the justification of abortion. Wars and self-defense are addressed in the Bible, if not explicitly then by example.

Or perhaps because it was tolerated and no big deal. Both views are total speculation and worthless. But for Cristian fundamentalists and legislators who wish to use the bible to impose their religious beliefs on others the onus should be on them to point to the biblical admonition.
