You make it sound like Dofo had the support of the majority of the people in Ontario. Winning a majority does not mean the majority of people support you. It does not mean you now have a mandate to do whatever you want. The last election was one of the most pathetic I have ever seen. I don't have any exact numbers, but for example, if the voting turn out was 40% and Dofo won 60% of he votes, then that means he was supported by 24% of the people ..... hardly a mandate. And yet, Dofo eliminated license plate fees, hoped to buy your vote with was it 50 cent or $1 beer (and I don't mean you specifically Skoob), cut back on health care and protection for the elderly in homes (most of the private ones are his cronies), is trying to privatize parts of health care and support, hoping to increase the cash he has hidden from the public so he can show less of a deficit, green lands to cronies, the most Minister Zoning over rides ever (maybe actually equaling the total of all ever preceding him), and so on and so on....same was said about DoFo and he went on to win two consecutive majorities. !
Just like you keep hanging your hat and argument on what came out of a legal proceeding, which by the way, the judge actually agreed with the government's decision. For clarity, I am not a JT supporter. He is no P.E.T.. But I am thankful he was the PM during covid. His actions, while maybe not supported by everyone, did save the lives of many Canadians and helped keep a roof over their heads. From a personal perspective, I had no need of help whether financial or otherwise and only increased my donations during those years, especially to food banks. When dougie sent me a rebate check for my license plates, I just gave the over $400 to the food bank.
Remember, courts don't always get it right. There are technicalities that allow the guilty to go free (usually Charter related) and there are people who have been incarcerated for years who are innocent, and even put to death (in the USA). Regarding the court cases that the Charter had thrown out, good, the Police should do better and not let that happen. I want the Charter there to protect my rights as well, so those cases thrown out are done so the system should improve and work better and work for all, both you and me.
