JUST IN: Senator John Fetterman trolls anti-Israel protesters after they showed up at his house to harass him. The protestors were heard chanting "Fetterman, Fetterman, you can't hide, you're supporting genocide." Fetterman was seen waving an Israel flag at the protestors. This wasn’t the first time Fetterman trolled pro-Palestine protesters. In November, Fetterman waved an Israel flag in protesters faces outside of the Senate.

Fetterman really knows who he answers to.
Clearly not voters.

You think someone in the state with the fourth highest Jewish population in the US (with about 300,000 Jewish voters, I think) isn't responding to voters by taking a strong pro-Israel stance?

Pennsylvania has about a 1% Jewish population, same as Muslim. Most are christian.
If he were going by votes why make a stand for 1% of the population?

Its about money and lobbying.

Congress members who were more supportive of Palestinian causes or more neutral prior to being elected, like Senator John Fetterman, Representative Maxwell Frost and Senator Raphael Warnock, shifted to take more pro-Israel positions after pro-Israel groups made donations, or threatened to get involved in a race. The Guardian found Fetterman and Warnock to be more supportive of Israel following the 7 October attacks, while Frost had a mixed response and has signed onto a resolution calling for a ceasefire.

Because they were instrumental to his victory and he responds to the voters who voted for him, maybe?
Or perhaps because he actually believes he is doing the right thing?

I don't know, I can't read Fetterman's mind.

But you claimed that it obviously wasn't in response to the voters, and I pointed out that there is a significant voting block he appears to be responding to.

I know you have your "50% of Democratic voters think Israel is committing genocide" poll.
Are those the numbers in Pennsylvania? (You can't extrapolate nationwide numbers to a single state.)

According to the same poll, 67% of 2020 Trump voters think Israel isn't committing genocide in Gaza.
30% of them think Israel should defeat Hamas and occupy Gaza and 33% think the Israeli military response hasn't been harsh enough.

US foreign policies are not set by the President, or is independent of whoever is President.

The UNWRA needs a thorough housecleaning before getting funded. If 12 members actually participated on the 7th then how many more have been involved in Smuggling of arms etc, in diversion of supples from those in need to the blackmarket, and other nefarious activity.

The lack of oversight for these NGO's makes me think Canada needs to just do its own foreign aid that can be properly vetted.

I wouldn't call 1% a significant voting block when there is also 1% Muslims whose support he will lose entirely.
Your argument that its about votes is particularly weak, unless you mean by 'instrumental' that they funded him. Which would bolster the claim I made, with support, that it was about AIPAC funding.

As for Pennsylvanian support, how many people are out on the streets supporting Palestine vs supporting Israel?
Isn't the fact that he's hiding on the roof from his voters protesting his position evidence that the national poll is likely accurate there as well?
