If you want to argue the reasonableness of the Brits making promises to the Hashemites and Jews, we can but more significant is that there are 10 million Israelis 3.5 million Palestinians (as well as descendants of refugees) that currently live in the region who need to be involved in the decision making of what happens next. Obviously there are certain factions opposed to any compromise but that is where the international pressure should be exerted.
