In my area of Ont. the change to 60 cycles happened in late 40s or early 50s. My Dad had an electrical business at the time and he was contracted by Ontario Hydro to convert appliances to 60 cycles. I still have a motor that was rewound to convert it and it still works.You can remember when there were TV and Radio repair shops.
Because you used to get them fixed.
And some of them on the old signs on the front would mention they did 25 cycle conversions.
But we dropped 25 cycle power in the late 30's.

My dad would collect them in a shoe box to test them. I learned most of my curse words from him trying to correctly orient the little glass bullets so the pins lined up and he could put them back in.
