Yes. They used to play the national anthem and then the station would go off the air after 2pm.
Or the station was off air due to technical difficulties.

Or Cracker Jack back when it was sold in a box.

And remember little kiosks in mall parking lots where you would drop off film and later pick up photographic prints or slides.

And remember when City TV had to change broadcast channel because they were cutting UHF back from 79.
The poor bastards that owned this company in the early 1980's.
Bob McCown used to reminisce about how movie theatres used to play the national anthen after the LAST movie of the day. He said patrons would try to anticipate the end of the movie so they could quickly grab their coats and get out of the theatre before the anthem started.
