IRGC Commander Says Tehran Ready for Expansion of Hamas-Israel War
The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force has warned that the Hamas-Israel conflict is likely to escalate throughout the region, insisting that "Tehran is prepared for all scenarios."
Amir Ali Hajizadeh also claimed that there were three contacts between US and Iranian officials regarding the conflict in one single night, adding that the Americans used the language of "wishes and requests" rather than "threats."
The Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies in Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iraq have been threatening a regional conflict since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7.
On November 12, six people were injured in a missile attack by Lebanon’s Hezbollah group on northern Israel.
Reports indicate that an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon hit several civilian vehicles near the Israeli border.
The Israeli army responded to the attacks with airstrikes on Hezbollah positions.
Meanwhile, former Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that "Israel dreams" of Iran and Hezbollah entering the conflict.
Zarif said that the Islamic Republic has no intention of doing so because Tehran's involvement would be "harmful to Hamas."
