Should we halt Immigration until we can get it under control.

I asked once. I’ll not ask again.
how much money did Mcguinty throw at teachers and more for their support ( attack ads during campaigns) and votes. Why do you think Don Drummond eventually had to be called in to kick the lid off the garbage can.

His dire warning no one’s listened to?
Raise revenue and hold the line on spending. Not either or. both!!

1 billion flushed on a gas plant
Wind farms paying stupid amounts
And on
And on
And on

They all do shit like that.

Skilled visa holders (H1-B) in the US have been laid off in their thousands. Canada wants them and opened applications for 10,000. Within hours, all 10,000 slots were gone. Welcome to Canada
This seems like a no-brainer because the US taxpayers fund their education and Canada potentially reaps the rewards. The devil is in the details though and we'll see how this plays out over time. I just hope that this and other programs are given enough time to mature before they're killed off.

I used myself as an example. But even if I did decide to go back or stay, that is a perfectly reasonable decision to make. Why is that a matter of loyalty to Canada? Its a ridiculous accusation to make in the first place.
Do you know how ridiculous how it sounds? "If I have 5M, i'd rather spend it somewhere else" how nice of you...no, you don't need to be patriotic towards Canada...and hopefully you can get that 5M you can spend elsewhere...LoL...

Beggaring the province buying the support of Unions isn’t corrupt? You might also want to Google what the chief elections officer said about that. He’s just the person that safeguards democracy….

covering up 1 billion for a gas plant isn’t corruption?

Paying green energy firms like Samsung stupid amounts isn’t corruption?

Mars?????

I could list so very much more. And while not a fan of Ford because he is a sellout to the 416/905. He doesn’t hold a candle to the previous admin…

That landed us in a shithole. So we don’t have the money to fix growing gaps in Healthcare, Hydro, LTCs, and much more.

Let alone try to deal with the massive influx of immigrants and citizens looking for work and a place to hang their hats.

Political corruption
public power, office, or resources by elected government officials for personal gain, by extortion, soliciting or offering bribes. It can also take the form of office holders maintaining themselves in office by purchasing votes by enacting laws which use taxpayers' money.

Firstly if I earn 5M, it is my money. Not Canada's money. Not your money. Not anyone else's. It is mine. I decide what to do with my money, how I spend it and where I spend it. You do not OWE investments in Canada just because you have money, you can invest it anywhere else you want 🤷‍♂️

Secondly, it was used as an example to convey the point that someone who is already rich and has a lot of money has little to gain from coming to Canada, because money can get you more outside of Canada, including a better lifestyle because Canada is expensive!. When you move to Canada you come here because you are trying to make it in life and want more opportunities and also because you like Canada's culture. So the example was used to stress the point that money that immigrants already have should not necessarily be such an important factor in deciding who will be good for Canada as an immigrant.

So no, it is not ridiculous and you are barking up the wrong tree here.
Lol no...i'm not barking at the wrong tree...and yeah, Canada don't owe you anything....you don't owe Canada shit either...but that just shows your Character....it's so convenient to suggest where to spend tax dollars should be spent...I have more respect for immigrants that try to come here, make a living and try to help others come over and get better lives...you don't owe anybody shit...you don't need respect either...and don't worry...you're not getting any from me...

So which one is out current government? don't stop from DoFo or we should only stop at DoFo?
McGuinty's gas contract was pandering to voters, it was stupid shit that did not put money in the pockets of politicians or donors.
The renewable contracts were expensive and likely stupid but what we should have been doing and what DoFo is realizing we should still be doing now.

DoFo has a record of questionable actions that reward his donors, from the Greenbelt land sales, Ontario Place, the Science Centre, Landlord Tenant board, health care privatization...

How do you explain this?

What character? I am here, I am a citizen, I am making a living here, I am paying my taxes etc., So what is your gripe with it? Your duty as a good citizen is to take care of yourself and those around you, pay your taxes, abide by the laws of the country. Which I am doing already. Where does the issue of respect arise on this one?

If a Canadian retires in another country, would you say the same thing about them? That they are being ungrateful to Canada because they made all their money in Canada? You mean to say that if someone earns money in Canada they need to be grateful to Canada and never leave? Like I dont understand what your issue is here? You have freedom of movement that is constitutionally protected, and therefore you can retire or go anywhere you want. What is your issue with it?

And what part of my example that we should focus on immigrants who want to stay in Canada do you not get? Infact we may be saying the same thing that we want immigrants to stay and live in Canada! My comment was also in the context of the cancellation of the Investor immigrant program because those investors weren't maintaining ties with Canada (which is exactly in line with my example that people with money would prefer to go elsewhere than live in an expensive country like Canada).

Are you just trolling? You just seem to have an axe to grind with me and just want to mouth off trying to misrepresent my comment. And if the motive behind your post is that immigrants owe gratitude and subservience and service to Canada, that does not apply to persons born and raised here, that is actually a tad racist and you may want to fix your attitude in how you view immigrants because you certainly dont view them equally.
Why would I have an axe to grind with you? Maybe you're a nice guy maybe you're a POS....I'm just basing my assessment from your posts...don't get your panties in a bunch...

So then express yourself clearly and tell me what your gripe is with my statement? I still dont understand what your "assessment" is here. The only one getting their panties in a bunch is you, over an example I used in another post. 😅
yeah nice example that was...from a guy who wants Canada to keep funneling funds to Ukraine because it's a NATO members' "duty"....all the while giving an example given the choice...you're rather move back then be a taxpayer....nice

Political corruption
Supporting unions - that's not corrupt, that's supporting good wages for lower and middle class workers. You want the government to lessen worker rights so corporations can make even more profits?
Gas plant - it was stupid, it was pandering to voters and then they tried to bury it the same way PeePee will try to bury his call that we use bitcoin for currency.
Green energy - We need to do every thing we can to avoid catastrophic climate change, those contracts may have been bad or stupid, but they weren't corrupt. No politicians got rich off of them.
Mars - stick to issues on Earth

Ford's corruption is way higher.

That is what most would denial and revionist history Frankfurter..I don’t have the time or inclination to bury you with soooo much..

noticed you didn’t have an answer as to why Drummond had to called in……..

Maybe you should Google what Smokey Robinson said about it . OPSEUs head. he called a spade a spade. Sold their souls to the devil..Go ahead Google it.. here’s one

maybe try not re writing history and this

And on and on and on…

man, there is denial, and then there is denial.

I hate them all. Pretty much because of crap like the above.but none more so than the liberal years 2003-2016 and the damage they did to this once amazing province. Damage done while their blind supporters in the GTA and paid supporters stuck their heads in the sand. While smalltown Ontario withered on the vine. Hydro rates were crushing people
Have you forgotten that nice politically correct term that never existed becore

Energy Poverty????

And as it relates to this thread, being over whelmed with immigrants, citizens, looking for work and a place to live, many of todays problems. No money for much of anything…You made your bed now you get to lie in it.

Some/many rich people come to Canada just to get their Canadian citizenship.

For those wishing to leave Canada, just bear in mind there is a departure tax. On the other hand, there are some people Canada should be happy if they leave.
